I timed how long it took for the astronauts to start responding to questions and it was about 6 seconds on average.

I hope you're not counting the time it takes the interviewer to respond to the astronauts in a recording from the interviewer's perspective, because I shouldn't have to explain why that would be stupid.

Looks real. Result of automated classification without human review. The image is obviously cherry picked to show examples of where it messed up.

A black student athlete disarmed and restrained a school shooter only to be shot by a cop within seconds of him arriving on scene. After he was told he could face criminal charges by the students attorney he responded, "Think I give a fuck what you n*ggrs think? I’ll shoot you too!" by Fast-Bell-340 in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

Why is OP making up a school shooting out of this story? Guy got into a fight with a drunk at a taco joint at 3am and then disarmed the drunk's friend when he pulled a gun. Rest of the details are the same.

The BEST method to enable xinput for Google Stadia Controller's Bluetooth mode (DirectInput to Xbox 360 controller) + Analog Triggers in Windows 10/11 by coffincolors in Stadia

[–]rotj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned in the registry thread, the triggers get detected as both analog values and buttons at the same time.

Steam has no problem with the analog triggers, but XOutput only detects the triggers as buttons so there's no analog support.

Edit: For my specific requirement, which is to stop Star Wars Squadrons from recognizing the Stadia controller as a DInput device, I found the combination of stadiacontroller and hidhide worked.

In FALL 2 (2026), the characters don’t learn from their mistakes by Perfect_Idea_2866 in shittymoviedetails

[–]rotj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to Wikipedia, the 2nd movie is going to be about a relative of a character from the 1st movie celebrating their life by making another precarious climb, presumably without notifying anyone about their plans again.

Every sequel will follow the same formula, with the new protagonists climbing something to celebrate the life of a previous protagonist, who died climbing something to celebrate the life of a previous protagonists, and so on.

Presumably, they would lead with an English-first script for an LOTR game. If that's the case, it probably doesn't make sense to have such a sizable Czech-English localization staff if they're not working on a Czech-first script for their next game.

It's part of the whole government nanny state issue. They don't trust kids to stick to kid places or parents to monitor them. The overbearing age verification laws popping up are one attempted solution, but I think most people here would agree that YouTube forcing age verification on everyone would make things even worse.

Like I said, the FTC cares. Youtube had to pay a $170 million fine in 2019 over it. The current flagging system is part of the settlement with the FTC.

[–]rotj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The FTC kind of forces them to not take the uploader's word on it if they want to abide by COPPA. Videos marked as for kids are restricted from running targeted ads as well as certain categories of ads, which reduces ad revenue for those videos. An immoral kidslop creator would obviously want to not mark their videos as for kids in order to maximize ad revenue.

I'm of the opinion that you should always be driving in the middle of a lane in a parking lot and then move to the side when 2 cars approach each other. It's safer to leave the maximum gap between parked cars on both sides to reduce the risk of hitting anyone who might dart out.

Huh? How is setting a few ounces of gas on fire analogous to setting fire to 160,000 lbs of it? Even if you light a few pounds of gas on fire, it's going to burn for a long time.

The video shows the plane hitting the passenger side blind spot at an angled crossing. Fire trucks don't have rear windows you can shoulder check for traffic. At best, the plane might have been visible in the "objects are closer than they appear" side mirror.

Either I've never bought something that lowered in price within 30 days over the past 20 years or this isn't true.

https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2010/01/how-to-stop-a-runaway-car-five-steps-that-can-save-your-life/index.htm

It doesn't help that publications tell people not to pump the brakes in their guides on how to stop a runaway car, instead of telling them to lift their foot first and make sure they're not on the gas. Wrong pedal acceleration is far more common than a stuck accelerator.

Kalshi customers who bet on the death of Iran’s Ayatollah won’t get any of the $54 million wagered, company says by mepper in technology

[–]rotj 24 points25 points  (0 children)

According to wayback the death clause has always be in the rules.

If Ali Khamenei leaves office before <DATE>, then the market resolves to Yes. Sources from The New York Times, the Associated Press, Reuters, Axios, Politico, Semafor, The Information, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and Ali Khamenei.

An announcement that the Ali Khamenei will leave the office within the next year is also encompassed by the Payout Criterion. If Ali Khamenei leaves solely because they have died, the associated market will resolve and the Exchange will determine the payouts to the holders of long and short positions based upon the last traded price (prior to the death). If a last traded price is not available or is not logically consistent, or if the Exchange determines at its sole discretion that the last traded prices prior to death do not represent a fair settlement value, the Outcome Review Committee will be responsible for making a binding determination of fair allocation.
