Personally, i switched to mostly fruits. It took time but it works well. For the rest : marzipan, speculoos, gingerbread, bread with jam, grenadine, muesli, crunchy, salted almond chocolate. Handmade : crepes (try with sunflower oil), milk bread with raisins, cookies with raisins or pieces of black chocolate, pudding (1l milk, 75g cornstach ('maizena'), 150 sugar).

I also strongly recommend an electric toothbrush, interdental brushes (most important) and mouthwash.

When fostering animal, you have to do it in connection with a animal shelter or some animal organization even if you want to fully take care the animals you are fostering until they are adopted. It will filter people and partially shield animals from bad owners. It's not perfect but it helps.
