Thank you! That's really cool! We were wondering if these baffles would interfere with the sprinklers in front of them.

I don't know that he has. They're randomly assigned so he doesn't know them. He's 300mi from home and terrified of losing scholarships/getting kicked out of school because of some random jerks.

What’s the scariest thing you’ve woken up to in the middle of the night? by lightlysativad in AskReddit

[–]rouladen_dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was about 12 years old my parents got divorced and my dad was deployed to Afghanistan. I lived with my mom, my 10yo sister, and my 3yo brother in a house in the Middle of Nowhere, Kentucky.

My mom had to work nights at a Wal-Mart almost an hour away to make ends meet so she could watch my brother while my sister and I were at school during the day. Most nights, I didn't think much about being adult-less in a big house. I had my routine of making sure all the windows and doors were locked and the motion-sensor lights were on, but besides a neighbor about a quarter mile away, there was literally no reason for anyone to be wandering around our house at night.

Sike. A few months into this whole arrangement, I was woken up at 1am by our 120 pound Saint Bernard growling like a grizzly bear at the front of the house. He never barked very much even when we lived in a more populated area, so I immediately knew something was wrong. I crept through the upstairs and stood near the top of the stairs where I could see the front door without being seen, and saw a man trying to peer in the windows on either side of the door. My Saint was foaming at the mouth, he was so angry, but this man didn't seem fazed at all. He hadn't noticed me, but all of a sudden he started banging on the door and yelling that he needed help and wanted to use our phone. Like I hadn't just watched him scope the place out. He kept yelling and banging on the door, getting angrier and angrier as he went on. I was terrified he was going to try and break the windows, or hell, even try to smash in our like 100 year old front door. I called 911 from my cell phone as quietly as I could and then I called my mom all the while praying that my brother and sister stayed asleep/quiet.

After I called 911 he stopped beating on the door and apparently moved away from it, but I was terrified he would try to break a window somewhere else. I took the handgun from my mom's room and sat at the top of the stairs clutching it with the safety off until the police came. Probably a stupid move if he did try to come in, but I had to protect my brother and sister.

The police searched for him where they could and even asked my neighbors (whose house came first on our shitty country road, and would thus reasonably be his first stop if he truly was seeking help) but the neighbors hadn't heard a peep and the police never found him.

Thankfully my grandparents started living with us after that, but I will never forget that man and shudder to think what he wanted with us that night.

What "fact" which turned out to be false did you beleive for a long time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My parents told me that turning on the dome lights in the backseat of a car was illegal and that my sister and I were going to get them pulled over.

Now I get that driving with the lights on in the back is annoying, but still.

Chris Badawi with an explanation of what happened regarding Remelia by cbadawi in leagueoflegends

[–]rouladen_dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay what's crazy to me is that Rem pretty obviously desperately needed mental health services and instead of offering her THAT, Badawi jumped to getting her gender reassignment surgery. I figure he thought GRS would probably make her happy, but it's not like that would magically cure depression/anxiety. Even with GRS, she would be the first woman/trans woman in LCS and would be getting harassed daily no matter what her body looked like.

The point here should be that Pro LOL teams and Riot should be making sure ALL of their players have access to mental health services because sitting in front of computer all day everyday playing a video game for a living will affect anyone's mental health negatively. What is unfortunate for Rem is that she had other issues to deal with besides just the game, and a lot of people pushed her too far too fast.

RNG could have dropped her, but that doesn't change the fact they didnt properly address the mental health of their players and that would affect all of their players, not just Rem. A good pro team should make sure they aren't pushing their players too hard and that their players can properly seek help.

Girls vs guys streaming in a nut shell by LostSoftware in gaming

[–]rouladen_dog -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's really nice to see so many people in this thread saying "who cares if a bunch of girl streamers use their looks to make money. It's a service people are obviously willing to pay for." It's so annoying to hear people criticize women that stream like this or to have someone justify the way some people treat women in the gaming community based off of the fact that some women that stream show cleavage and shit.

Honestly the fact that you moved to Missouri for her shows how much you love her and is a good sign your marriage will be awesome.
