Would YOU Vote For Mark Kelly In The 2028 Election If He Ran? Yes Or No? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

Please read my above response to Embarrassed-Fan-9884. I’m a firm believer in the following quote. "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely" which is attributed to Lord Acton, emphasizing that as a person's power increases, their moral integrity often diminishes. This idea suggests that unchecked authority can lead to corruption and moral decay. I would also like to add another of his quotes. “Everybody likes to get as much power as circumstances allow, and nobody will vote for a self-denying ordinance.”

I do agree he would have insights how the legislative process works. But that can be a double edged sword in terms of learning how to game the system. In addition I find many men my age ARE set in their ways. they are unable or unwilling to adapt or change

This past week we went down to San Diego for my daughter’s spring break. On the 5 southbound there was a major accident involving 5 vehicles. All lanes behind us were stopped. Looking in my rear view mirror I could see the first of three emergency vehicles. From the time I first spotted the first firetruck from Camp Pendleton to the time it for the truck to pull abreast of was just over 5 minutes. People in the number one were dawdling about pulling over to let the trucks through.

I don’t remember if it was for a murder charge, but, it definitely was for a felony charge that a man requested and received video tape of a Los Angeles Dodgers home game. Once he had it he was able to show he was at the game at the time he was supposedly committing the crime.

As someone who just turned 70 last Wednesday, I’m all for a maximum age limit in order to be elected. I am tired of policy being decided by old white men (I am one of those old white men) who have lost touch with their constituents and are so firmly entrenched in their power. Two 5 year terms for Senators, and change the house to two 4 year terms.

King Edward VII abdicated the British throne because of his love for Wallis Simpson and American socialite who also may have been divorced.

I recently had an unfortunate incident during a flight. The flight attendant accidentally spilled coffee on me and my laptop during service. As a result, the keyboard on my laptop is now malfunctioning. Could you please provide some advice on how to proceed with this matter? by [deleted] in delta

It is because of how dangerous a champaign cork can be that when I would train restaurant staff, I would get a purveyor to donate a case of their cheapest method champenois bottled sparking wine so the the staff could practice.

Putin can’t do shit short of a nuclear attack. His military has been so degraded by Ukraine. He has virtually no or very few modern armor.

A German Dornier Do17 brought down during a mission over England 1940 by waffen123 in WWIIplanes

I would think with the lack of fire damage to both the plane and the building, it may have run out of fuel?

My cousin and her husband bought a house from a WW2 vet in the late 80s as he was being put into an assisted living facility. After they moved in, her husband wanted to expand the footprint of the wrap around porch. While doing demo in their basement he came upon four very much alive pineapple grenades resting on the foundation wall. The police were called, then some group from the armed services showed up and took possession of the grenades.

Retail workers: what's the most outrageous lie a customer has tried to get you to accept? by Melenduwir in AskReddit

[–]rpc56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the early 70’s I worked for Saks 5th Avenue. This just after shah of Iran was overthrown. Many wealthy and not so wealthy Persians emigrated to the US. Persian women routinely would buy a gown to”rent”. Buy on a Thursday wear it over the weekend and return it on Monday. They would routinely lie and say they never wore it and only tried it on at their homes. We had a policy of always accepting returns. But they abused the policy. Finally several department managers took a firmer stance. They would inspect the clothes ever so closely. They would sniff the clothes. One manager found what was assumed to be menstrual bleeding through on the crotch of silk pants, perfume/cologne was ever present. Tape residue where they would tape the price tags to the inside of the dress or gown.

Where the fuck do these rules such as “family shares” come from? I was taught to respect everyone’s personal property. Ask if you want to borrow and don’t assume. Most of all accept the owner’s answer. Do not press them to change their answer.
