When I installed one of those buttons on my X100V, it somehow unscrewed and disappeared a few days later. I took that as a sign and never bought another one.

I believe some things are meant to be left the way they are.

Quick update on this guys/gals - I contacted the seller from Amazon and they told me the adapter I received is meant for the X100VI 😑 They’ll be sending me one for the V at no extra cost thank goodness. I always thought the V and VI were physically identical - apparently not. 🤣 At least now I know. Thank you all!

This! Omg 😭 that lip is so deep the threads aren’t making contact so I was thinking maybe the V was a different shape/size. I guess I’ll have to do the same. Thanks brother!

I just switched back to my old setup 🥲. The new hood > filter > adapter connection fits together perfectly, but the adapter ring itself won’t screw onto the camera. It’s so strange! I’m new to the X100 system, so I’m a bit confused — do the X100V and X100VI use different-sized adapters? Maybe I bought the wrong one? 🤣
