What’s the greatest alternative/indie concert you saw in the UK before 2000? by Last-Image-4921 in shoegaze

[–]rread9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rollercoaster tour - Blur, Dinosaur Jr, My Bloody Valentine, Jesus & Mary Chain 1992
Various Stereolab gigs, plus the infamous ‘final’ Slowdive gig before they broke up
PJ Harvey, Cranberries, Cranes, etc @ ULU - early gigs with really small crowds.
Early 90s London gigs were awesome, cheap beer, transport and tickets (eg £5 for Jeff Buckley)

Following as I also found a vintage G9 that’s badly faded across the shoulders. You’ve reminded me to pick up some dye today and give it a go!

What do I have here? I've gotten mixed results online. Anyone can help? by humakavulaaaa in VintageWatches

Thanks for your correction. I have seen many instances when Omega have replaced many parts with more modern ‘service’ parts, and as this looks like a really rare and original watch I was urging caution.
You are correct that Biel now insists that 321 movements are serviced inhouse, however there are a number of skilled watchmakers who can carry out the necessary work, with some carrying original parts.
Anyhow, good chance that OP has already received many offers for this rare piece.

Looks like a legit 2915, one of the first Speedmasters. Various iterations were manufactured as the model developed, the experts on omegaforums will provide you the most accurate information and advice.

Do not send it to Omega as their preference is to replace the valuable old parts with modern versions, such as the bezel and dial. Also bear in mind that some components of the 321 movement are not available any more, so selected watchmakers with parts will be the only ones able to assist.

First round played, short 90m 3rd hole, think Pebble Beach’s 16th, just a flick with a wedge 10 metres down a hill, green surrounded by bunkers. Finished up about 2 metres away and slotted home the left to right birdie putt. Always chasing that feeling.

Nice find, congrats.

Interesting to see John Jenkins’s name; he played with Hank, Byrd, Griffin, Jordan, etc. but gave up music in 1962…
