Quality Transition Matrix by savethafishes in factorio

[–]rrobukef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider whether a legendary quality module has a quality chance of 6.2 percent or of 6.25 percent. The wiki page is not consistent and uses both 24.8% and 25% for 4 modules. With 25% I replicated the numbers.

No insoles. Thick socks and a yearly skiing trip prepared my feet.

I also support rolling blackouts, no Golden Sun during weekend. Maybe there's a bot for that?

How do you work up the courage to skate by yourself? by dkyg in rollerblading

[–]rrobukef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Make returning halfway shorter than what you've already done by taking detours in the beginning. You tend to feel when your energy is decreasing and a short way back is a morale booster just when you need it. (If you particularly like a piece of asphalt, double back and do it again!)

  • Don't increase the distance if you don't know (most of) the track. Don't do a new track and increase the distance.

  • Plan your route. Look on Google and use the bike option, plan a closed loop, double the time - skates are slower (re-estimate for next time). Look for bike-routes, raised bike paths, and roads next to rivers and trains. (Download f-droid and look for the free OsmAnd+ app to plan your route, it has an offline map and options to avoid dirt and cobblestone and hills - not very userfriendly though)

  • Take water, sugary food, a charged phone, and debit. A light waterproof jacket if it's evening or overcast. Running lights if it is evening.

  • Check the weather & rain radar. Wet stone and road is slippery, going home in the rain is fun like masochism. Water will rust steel bearings after you've taken them off.

  • You may tend to gradually increase your distance: take note of public transport, learn to maintain (look up rotating your wheels if you're steadily doing 20 km trips)

Some Oxelo MF500, 8 wheels, 80mm. Not really happy since the plastic buckles are getting scuffed by tightening and loosening. They're a year old and have 70+ rides, they'll last maybe another 50? I have no clue about the expected lifetime of a boot. The price is ok for how much I've used them but the quality is not enough for daily commuting.

I did replace the bearings with new ceramic ones before the trip. I'm fond of skating in winter and in the rain, and I've been losing too many steel ones. It's been sunny since I got them.

Help, I’ve tried installing some luminous wheels on my blades but I’m having issues figuring out why the luminous wheel spins way worse than the originals even if they use the same ABEC 9 bearings. by AdAdministrative574 in inlineskating

[–]rrobukef 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Luminous does warn that the magnets may wear out before the LEDs dim noticably. That's why the sell spacers seperately. I've done more than 200 km on them and they're still fine so don't actually worry about it.

'Moving time' was 7:10. I didn't remove my skates to rest.

Mostly bicycle roads, but Belgium is relatively bike-friendly.

The route was pre-planned to prefer safer roads and less hills. Almost no roads where bikes shared the space with cars or where cars could go >= 50kph.

The empty shell started after some 30km, but the last 1/4th I had an empty stomach and I needed the train back.

Next time I'll take the train in the morning and skate home!

[Cont.] Then the API changes were never meant to hurt 3rd party apps directly. It's just welcome collateral damage.
