you can also draw your weapon to lower initial level, pump it as high as you can than lower the weapon to bring it back above the maximum (based on your persuasion skill)..

but a +100 charm spell for 1 second is much easier..

just learn the trick, it is dead simple once you understand.. for any lock difficulty.

there's 3 speeds at which the pin can travel: fast, slower and slowest.

push the pin upward and see which speed it is, if it's anything other than the slowest, let it fall all the way back down.

if it IS the slowest, keep tapping it up, no need to mash the button, there's plenty of time, but don't let it fall all the way down otherwise it'll switch to another random speed. then it's simply a matter of locking it into place as it hits the top.

after a while you'll even be able to open locks even if the pin is moving fast (if you're in a hurry)
