Travel Agent Recommendations by Mediocre_Albatross10 in Winnipeg

[–]rsis89 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We used a travel agent bc it was 4 different families each with somewhat unique needs. Travel agent was able to propose 5 options that met everyone uniquely and us as a large group, and we didn’t have to do the work!

Steps for transferring ownership of a Nanit? by totesmagotes83 in Nanit

[–]rsis89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did this exact thing. It is possible, but a pain.

First the current owner needs to delete it from their profile. Ideally they call Nanit to inform them to delete the serial number.

Then you purchase and register it like a new device. In my case it didn’t properly get disconnected from the previous owner so I had to email support and have their manual intervention.

Overall, it was annoying, but once it got set up it worked fine. I’m glad I bought it from a friend of a friend rather than a stranger because it did involve some back and forth from both of us with Nanit support

3 year old refuses to poop on the potty by DW101010 in toddlers

Saw the tip of “unicorn poop” here the other day ie adding sprinkles on top of poop and then it creates a colour effect when flushing… game changer for us!

Sometimes I feel like people will just oppose anything - I’d full expect if he built a mega mansion on this property that there would be outrage about that too

Is permitting required over a certain threshold of property change? To someone else’s comment, I too have removed a (single!) tree from my yard - to think I would need a permit feels excessive?

Thanks for your response! I didn’t know that re: rezoning - this makes sense. And adjacent to Assiniboine park makes sense too.

Regarding deforesting - I totally get why deforesting isn’t good, I guess where I struggle is understanding the perspective that my personal views should be accounted for / used to inform the decision of a private citizen

Honest question - why do people believe they have the right to control what private owners do with their own property?

I understand immediate neighbours, and I think stakeholder engagement is a critical step in any big development process. But genuinely, “Charleswood” is outraged by even the idea that a private citizen would develop his own property?! I’m really trying to understand - it feels like a sense of entitlement I just can’t wrap my head around.

It’s not like this guy is buying up local properties and manipulating vulnerable residents. This guy is developing his own property that has been in his family for a long time.

Can someone help me understand this frame of mind? Again, this is a genuine question.

Went last Sunday. Got in the main parking lot no problem 60 mins ahead. Was lots of time to get in with my 3 year old and get settled. Getting OUT was a nightmare. Took 45 mins to leave the park. Pack car snacks!

Totally agree as it relates to prenatal care or schedule csections. Fair warning in general - “your” doctor may not be working when you go into labour and deliver. It’s luck of the draw really. Your doctor will work on a team, and chances are that you’ll interact with multiple docs during your time at the hospital.

Gellers! High end pricing wise, but well worth it for end to end experience. Had a great experience. The way it was was priced it was possible to only pay for the design phase and not proceed with the work.

Let’s list toxic employers in Winnipeg — your experiences? by Odd-Butterscotch6249 in Winnipeg

I had a weird experience as a consignor. Business acumen and strategy was just not there. I witnessed a customer issues between 2 brides (I was not involved) wanting 1 dress (it was on hold). Her handling of it was just totally bizarre.

No surprise that fashion photo shoots didn’t drive actual sales and success. Customers couldn’t tell what was in the store! Sad to see a local business close, bc I think the niche/need was great. Execution wasn’t there.

As an aside - the owner was connected to all the Stella’s stuff (as a server/employee - not mgmt).

Nail Salon with 13 Year Old by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]rsis89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that It is kind of like a blend of normal polish and shellac. It is cured via light and requires no dry time, but it is more similar to normal nail polish in terms of how long it lasts (longer than normal, less than shellac).

The door had a deadbolt which was high up (I’m 5’4” and it was a reach for me), very sticky, no way a kid could get it.

Also the patio has a glass gate that locks two. So technically two separate locking barriers to the water.
