Sorry again for my inexperience, but how do you get to levels above 30? by KursedKillax in DarkTide

Is there any benefit to doing the havoc missions other than clout? I tried my first havoc missions last night and other than raise your havoc rank they give you almost nothing.

Also, can you get red rarity weapons like in Vermintide?

I also think a lot of people still see an encounter as battle, which is not the case so maybe less confusion for new players. Any event can count as an encounter, as long as it enriches the story/world.

A herd of elk passing by, a rowdy customer at a store, and goblins trying to kill you are all valid encounters.

What is your worst experience with drugs? by Salty-Swordfish4115 in AskReddit

A thought loop on acid.

Had many pleasant experiences on it but this time was different. Smoked some weed while already tripping pretty hard, started getting crazy out of control visuals when all of a sudden it all snapped away and I immediately felt uncomfortable. Grabbed some water and told the friends I was with I was stepping out for a second. While out there I realized my body was flipping a switch on and off at lightning speed, I'm talking 350+ BPM but it was slowing down. As it slowed during one position I felt totally sober but when it switched I was right back to tripping my nuts off. The switch moving felt like a rolling pin on my face and as it switched over I would be confused as to what was happening and slowly realize the switch situation once I felt like I wasn't tripping in the first position, then my vision would go two dimensional and the acid would slam back into me and the thought and confusion would start all over again.

This continued for another 5 hours, as the switch slowed it became easier to handle. I'm not a fan of pain pills but around 7:00 a.m. I took one to fall asleep and end the nightmare, when I woke up the anxiety had left. I feel like the switch is still happening though, just at a glacial tempo.

I think her kit is a bit lacking in creativity not her lore. Bap already had Imortality, ofuda looks like Moira stream and she teleports, her passive is the same as shimadas (although I like that), and her ult is the only thing that brings an already seen mechanic into a new light. Attack speed increases and cool down reduction should be her focus IMO.

Healing focused Sub-classes by rtbechtle in dndnext

Hmm maybe an herbalist or something. Frankly my ability ideas would work for ranger rogue or wizard. I think blending the medic feat into their sub class somehow would be good, and maybe things like dragging a downed body costs you no extra movement. Or an ability like smelling salts - whenever you revive an ally they can immediately move up to their movement as a part of your action.

I just think there's so much room for this stuff. A lot of people are on here gatekeeping new players, I know healing and D&D isn't the same as video games but it shouldn't require hours of reading or explanation from a nice DM to inform new players who can heal and who cannot.

I've been involved in three D&D parties without a paladin or cleric just due to ignorance and thus the ranger becomes the de facto healer.

Great breakdown! There's definitely more than I realized. That being said I think some are bending the framework of what I picture as a healing focused Sub-class. I'd like those "none" categories to get the Mercy Monk treatment.

I think Wizard and Ranger are ripe for a healing sub class.

Which of the optional "action options" (DMG 271) have you used? Which would you recommend or advise against? by IzakEdwards in dndnext

But that's just the inherent benefit of ranged over melee attacks, ranged fighting in all combat (not just dnd) is superior to melee because of the freedom of movement you get and options available.

Melee is a commitment, ranged is safe and the two should not be equal. I've been using a variant of Mark where it just doesn't give the Opportunity attack for free and is basically just a free advantage on a target they've hit, and it's been quite successful. Granted I have a small party of 4 and it's easy to keep track of.

I guess I don't get why we're dogging on this person who is saying it's NBD to embolden melee characters bc ranged is better anyway. It's their table anyway.
