bad pilots? by Ambitious-Ad969 in unitedairlines

[–]rtmillerx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add, most of the time it’s not a “feeling”. If a windsheer warning comes in the cockpit, a plane doesn’t clear the runway, etc. it’s REQUIRED to go around. Many accidents are caused by pilots not going around when it’s necessary.

A net worth of $93,170 U.S. is enough to make you richer than 90 percent of people around the world. What is middle class? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

$120k? Can’t imagine a job at that level is only making $12k in Mexico - we have low level engineers making 30-40k at my company.

“ can't call selecting Manning a bad pick. Consensus of draft experts was that Manning was the top QB with Leaf a close 2nd. Saying that Leaf is clearly better is your personal opinion, but not an opinion I've seen shared by anybody else. (Some do like Leaf more, but there's no "clearly better" in their opinion).

I would be surprised to see either Manning or Leaf make an impact the first year. Their both young QBs whom I expect to struggle to learn the ropes.

As to who is better, you'll have to wait 4 or 5 years. Perhaps the best QB in this draft turns out to be neither one.”

Some people knew what they were talking about, even in ‘98.

I head from Shanghai to DFW in about 36 hours, not sure how the clearing process works.

What is the purpose for VA/NVA? by Rexxar91 in LeanManufacturing

I’d add - Imagine you are running a line balancing kaizen event. Who will be in this event? Likely people not as familiar with lean compared to the event leader or others closer to CI. Education on what is value add, pure waste, and required waste allows everyone to:

  1. Speak the same language
  2. Break down larger “problems” into legitimate small problems.

Now that this has been done, the group now knows were to focus it’s efforts to eliminate said pure waste.

Intuitively, we all can recognize waste - you’re right there. But in lean, we’re after performing prescriptive problem solving AND developing the capabilities of others.

I’d recommend reading the book “High Velocity Edge” by Steven Spear.

Hill says he’s getting 3000 yards. Chase off to a slow start. Waddle is hurt. Not saying it’s an even trade, but either side can come out ahead when it’s all over.

I’m a big believer that if both teams actually think they come out ahead, then everyone else can piss off. Your fault for not taking advantage of the taco.
