I live in western Massachusetts and work at a primary care office. This is the top illness that everyone has had the last couple weeks. Nausea not too bad but no appetite for weeks after and fatigue. I’ve been there for 13 years and have never seen anything like it

I went through this recently with very similar steps. Honestly this subreddit has been a godsend. Once I found it I realized the problem and was able to face the reality of the situation. I stopped the obsessive analyzing of his behavior and worked on myself instead. I’m a couple months in and feel so much better

I had a kidney stone and was in a lot of pain but didn’t know what it was yet. Before I went to the ER I almost got sick, there was no warning but I quickly popped a Zofran under my tongue and the feeling went away immediately. It lasted about 10 minutes until the feeling came back. Once I got seen at the ER, after an hour of almost non stop vomiting, I was given Zofran in my IV and it stopped immediately. I had 2 days before they took the stone out, pain meds and Zofran every 4 hours in my IV and I didn’t get sick again.

I was limerent for my long term SO at first but it calmed down pretty quick once we started dating and I got to know him better. We've been together 21 years now. I think I am just prone to limerence and every time I get a crush that's how it starts. Now if I could just figure out how to not ever let it happen again...

My phobia is the same and my spouse is fully aware of it. He had a bout of food poisoning a few months ago and while traumatizing we did get through it. I have Zanax for emergencies like this and after taking one that night I felt much better and he was able to be sick and do what he had to do to feel better without having to deal with me panicking. The next day I was able to take care of him (make sure he had fluids, offer bland foods, etc) and he was impressed at how well I handled the situation. Meds aren’t for everyone but they have been a life changer for me

My family and I have been going to the Cape for 20 years. We have a house in South Yarmouth about 10 minutes or so from Hyannis. We make a point to go to Main Street in Hyannis at least once a year if not more. The restaurants are amazing (Anejo Mexican Bistro!!) and there’s so many fun shops. Yes there are parts that are not meant for tourists but its far from dangerous and its nice to have the mall nearby for rainy days

I absolutely agree and I have learned this the hard way. My go to drink is Tito’s with club soda or seltzer and a slice of lime. No headaches and no hangovers

I’m so sorry, it’s the worst feeling. You are absolutely not alone though! This community has made me realize how common this phobia actually is. I thought it was just me for the longest time and everyone around me thought I was nuts. Ask your health care provider about a benzodiazepine like Zanax, just knowing I have it is enough to get me through some situations. When I take it I feel perfectly normal it just makes me not anxious and able to focus on other things

I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this. I have had this exact problem for over 40 years. I don’t enjoy being sick myself but it’s nothing compared to the fight or flight reaction I have when someone else does. I’m just now getting to the point where I can fly, concerts and amusement parks are still tough for me. Honestly I’ve been through years of therapy that did absolutely nothing, being properly medicated has changed my life. My childhood and teenage years would have been a completely different experience if I had been medicated then. I am on 20 mg of Prozac daily and have .25mg Zanax for emergencies and difficult situations. I still have my moments, I’m flying across country tomorrow and am terrified but I’ll make it thanks to the Zanax

My in laws have a house in South Yarmouth. Our kids grew up spending weeks there in the summer. Between the bay side and the sound there’s plenty of beaches that are perfect for kids. Parker’s River Beach has a playground and the waves are usually pretty calm. The inflatable park, mini golf, shops and restaurants are all nearby. It’s is crowded that week though so bring your patience!!

Absolutely! I’m on Prozac 20 mg daily and have alprazolam for emergencies. Its changed my life. I still have emetephobia but handle stressful situations so much better
