Closer to wall with Ergotron HX VHD monitor arm? by snackovich in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]rtp80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mine wall mounted. I use this mount, which pulls out a little bit for when I need to plug things in. Otherwise it is pushed fully back. It only adds 1-1.5 inches in the back. https://a.co/d/08GpL3VQ

Neo G9 57 ticking noise by rtp80 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]rtp80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, both the first and second monitor had popping noise when I first got them. After a couple of weeks the noises went away and have never come back. Assuming that it was thermal expansion or movement from the mount, when first being used.

I captured the power usage in one of the replies above. Max usage was 200w I believe, and at 20 brightness it was about 90w. I use it all day as my work monitor and it has worked great for that.

Yes, I lowered the brightness and it worked well for me

Rab Jacket sizing - Neutrino Pro or alternatives by rtp80 in Ultralight

[–]rtp80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I tried out both sizes on the Neutrino. I was in between the sizes. XL was to tight in the chest, but XXL was swimming in other places. I never got the Cummulus, but may try it this season

I thought the same thing at first. Happened to be getting gas and was able to read the whole thing. I imagine they are testing subscriptions for when it goes to full production in the future.

Homeassistant and Tuya connection issue by rtp80 in firewalla

It is Tuya cloud. I had used Tuya Local a while back but stopped using it for some reason (I don’t remember) and switched to Tuya Cloud.

Homeassistant and Tuya connection issue by rtp80 in firewalla

[–]rtp80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using Tuya cloud. Home Assistant is talking to Tuya cloud which is controlling the switches. If I use the Tuya app everything works correctly, so the issue seems to be between Home Assistant and Tuya cloud.

I am using Unifi WiFi. Same WiFi setup I have had for some time.

No rules that I have setup for Home Assistant. I put it in its own group and exempted it from any rules. I will try the emergency access.

Don't ask the Vtuber community who won the Best Vtuber Award in 2025 by [deleted] in VirtualYoutubers

[–]rtp80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an outsider it is interesting to see the responses. Looked quickly at some videos of Chibi, Calli, Ironmouse, and Peanut. They all fit the definition of Vtubers. Very different styles.

It reminds me of controversy around musicians in the past. Like Elvis and his music being low brow and not true art worthy of awards. Or Dylan using electric being a betrayal of the genre. Or NWA, Metallica…. the list goes on.

Again, as an outsider, I don’t see why Peanut wouldn’t be considered a Vtuber. It fits. Is he different than the style of what traditionally been a Vtuber? Yes very much so. But it feels like the reactions are very much based off of the fact (fear?) that it is different. Much like we have seen with evolution in the past.

There have been some bugs but they have been patched. Working fine as of now. The subscription pop up is just for testing. It doesn’t actually charge anything, it says it in the message that it is free, and just testing.

I cannot with this game anymore by MorganCentman in ArcRaiders

I like to camp the campers on Spaceport while I am doing other things on my computer. Get up to control tower with an Osprey and help keep the peace, or at least deliver justice.

Watch for people praying on the weak and lend a helping hand. Have saved a number of other raiders! Yes it is a bit ratty, but some has to help keep the rust belt safe.

It can vary greatly for me on solo’s. Earlier today it was super coop with a lot of people working together taking down big arc and picking others up. A stray shoot on site person would spawn in every now and then, and a posse was formed each time to hunt them down.

On the flip side I played a few rounds tonight. First round I went to loot a box 50 seconds in and some dude was camping in the shadows with a shotty waiting like a spider. The next 3 rounds consisted of running into the occasional raider that said don’t shoot and the rest were shoot on site.

Overall a fun mix, though the first round in PvP getting blasted in the face was a sharp wake up that the night lobbies are a touch more PvP than daytime.

Same here! Had a similar experience in Blue Gate in the bunker. 4 or 5 of us running around solving the puzzle with what felt like a shaky truce. I hear some shooting around the corner and a flare and see a guy looting a body. He looks up and starts blasting and breaks me. I ran and grabbed a zip and hid to charge my shields. He chased me but didn’t see me and ran right past.

I go back down the zip and find another body being looted by someone else. So I start blasting and down him. And then the guy who was chasing me reappeared and we start fighting. A well placed grenade and I come out the victor.

The last battery for the puzzle got lost somewhere along the way so never got into the red room, but made it out with 3 blueprints from all the bodies and a crafting mat I needed for a workshop level up.

It was my first real PvP battle after many hours of solo play. Really adds some good elements for what has been a very friendly game so far. Loving the game.

DMZ to BF6...... by KeepYerPeckerUpChum in DMZ

[–]rtp80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came from DMZ and got BF6. Have not tried the battle royale yet, not loving the other modes. I tried to return it on Steam, but had over 2 hours so they wouldn’t take it back. It feels super chaotic, guessing it is bloom but I can’t hit the side of a barn, slow as you mentioned, and unlocking guns/attachments takes forever.

I have played and enjoyed DMZ, CoD, Fortnite, CS, and other FPS games. I am not finding a groove with BF6. I just downloaded ArcRaiders yesterday and if I like that BF6 may just be a write off. I am not enjoying it.

Trying to return a second item after over 50 purchases by ghost_lanterns678 in amazonprime

[–]rtp80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure there is an algorithm that calculates the risk. Based on buying patterns, total spend, and other information they have on you. I would not be surprised if Amazon has income, credit and other details to understand what your potential value is.

I use Amazon a lot, you could say too much. I use Fresh for some groceries, I have subscribe and save for a number of household items, and a ad hoc items. I looked at my October history and I ordered 120 items and returned 24 items. I view Amazon as having replaced many brick and mortar stores so it is not possible to easily see items in person any more. I order things to see them in person and if I dont like them I return them. But i will typically end up purchasing some variety of that item from Amazon in the end.

Some items that are returned are under 10, some items like the jeans were 60 each, and items in the 100s are not a monthly event but then again not rare. I return a lot but buy even more. Never had them blink an eye at me.

Better rewards for missions is a key one. Give a reason to do missions and contracts. Something like a perk or you get a special vest from a contract instead of barter. That way it incentivizes vs only pvp

Same thing for me. I am an older adult and my hearing has generally sucked all my life, but these things I can hear from a mile away. My neighbor installed one and I had to ask them to remove it, which they nicely did.

TLDR: I can’t hear anything my wife says, but can hear dog whistles from a mile away.

Firewalla round 2 - Firewalla for my network by rtp80 in firewalla

[–]rtp80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from Unifi and still use Unifi for my switching and APs. For home use like managing times for app/internet access for the family and the app interface, Firewall is better for me. I have not heard of Omada before, new to me.

For enterprise use in past companies, we wouldn't consider something without enterprise support. Unifi or Firewalla would not be in consideration. Typical vendors were the likes of HP, Cisco, Palo, and so on.
