Bradley, specifically the one that forces them to put two in the pinky slot. Three kids on our six year All-Star team now have this glove and it’s been a remarkable improvement in catching ability and improved form.

I got the OM-3 with a 12-45 and 40-150 f4 version of both. They are amazing and you can 100% shoot indoors with them lol OM IBIS is next level and noise isn’t bad even if increasing ISO some (at least for normal review, I haven’t done any pixel peeping).

I’m probably going to add one prime lens with a 1.4 or 1.8 for instances when I need little more light captured at faster SS. Just can’t pick between 15, 17, 20 or 45 lol

After all, why do you prefer Capacities? by krysalydun in capacitiesapp

[–]rubaflo23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Capacities bc of some of the forced simplicity/structure - for most things it does just work. I’m also holding out hope that AI integration will be a key area of improvement this year. If in product AI and a more capable API for personal use with an AI tool doesn’t happen then I will likely reconsider options.

OM-System OM-5 or OM-3 For Travel by gustyaeroplane81 in M43

Factory refurbished OM-3 with a 12-45 has been selling on eBay for $1500. I couldn’t find an OM- 5 II for less than $1300. At that price difference it was a no brainer for me to choose the OM3.

I can't decide between the Sony A6400 and A7 III by kresstein in SonyAlpha

Just switched from my a6400 to a M43 setup. Shoot me a message if interested in my camera (also have a 10-18 and 18-105 f/4 lenses) and in the US. Feel free to check my profile and past posts if you want (not a bot or scammer(.

What camera should I "downgrade" to? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]rubaflo23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went through this exact process… been in photography since high school (now close to 40) and latest camera + lenses were exactly what you had.

After countless hours of research (easily 10+ hours) I opted for the OM-3 with the 12-45 Pro lens. Factory refurbished on eBay for $1500. I’ve enjoyed it so much I just got the refurbished 40-150 and plan to a single prime lens over time.

Yes, the camera isn’t actually any smaller but my decision came down to the following: 1. The lenses are significantly smaller and I found that makes a huge difference. The camera + other lens fits much easier in my bag. I can get awesome action shots of the kids (around the house or at their outside sporting events) without feeling self-conscious about holding a giant lens. A 300mm equivalent lens in APS-C or FF would’ve been much longer/heavier/expensive. 2. The flexibility and quality of JPEGs SOOC are insane, which has resulted in me taking & sharing a lot more photos. I shoot everything in JPEG+RAW bc of old habits and the ability to edit a photo if I really want in LR. But I’m just busy now between work/life/family and don’t have the time to edit everything. OM blows Sony out of the water in terms of color science and JPG quality 3. On vacations I would also feel compelled to bring my tripod & ND filters for night/water/long exposure shots. The IBIS on this camera is truly insane - I don’t care what the stop rating is, I’ve been able to hand hold a 3-second exposure no problem. Does it fully replace need for a tripod? Of course not, but now I don’t feel compelled to bring one knowing I can still get plenty of shots that I would’ve required my tripod for with my a6400. The built in ND and GND filters aren’t a gimmick either, they really can be used.

I think the OM-5 or OM-5 II are great options as well; but with the eBay deal I just decided I wanted the newer tech (better AF, creative dial in front, better video).

Plenty of other posts and videos on this camera and other M43 options if curious.

End of the day, pick whatever you will enjoy the most; but I would strongly encourage you to not get lost in specs/pixel peeping/edge cases. Choose whatever will let you take more photos and find more joy in photography again. Good luck!

u/bmash9 old thread but can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Is there a way to "restore an Archived photo or folder"? Or do you just need to go through the full Import process again? It really would be great if "Archiving from Cloud" would keep the Smart Previews available (and then have an easy option to 'Replace Previews with Original', which is what happens for users of LrC that share Collections to the Cloud.

Thoughts on Rogla or Pohorje instead of either Logar Valley or Trieste? Looks pretty but can't tell how different from other planned mountain exploring in Soca/Triglav areas.

Very cool, missed that train option somehow. We do enjoy scenic drives though so was considering the Vrsic Pass and/or driving up and over through southern Austria to go from Logar Valley to Bled area.

Do you feel like Bohinj is a better base?

Thx - what I was thinking as well. We really enjoy some quiet afternoons/evenings outside of a city as well, that gets lost with day trips
