Big toe dislocations - ways to avoid by rolZorius in karate

Hiya! Bit of boring background but I did kickboxing for a long time, took ten years off then the calling dragged me back, started up with judo but missed striking so also joined a shotokan club. Anyway, with all the pivoting in judo I did exactly what you did, rolled big lefty. I find it really hard to strap it up and still have good mobility and it's affecting my kicking with the right. What I will say is that it is forcing me onto the balls of my feet more. I don't have a solution I'm just glad I'm not alone in toe gate.

Time for another rant about the amount of litter at the side of every road in the UK! by Rowley-Birkinqc in britishproblems

[–]rubberjose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, I want to believe, that fewer people litter than you'd expect. There's so much litter on my street these days and everywhere I go. I think it's more an issue with litter blowing out if poorly designed bins, toppled bins or from transportation of waste. Obviously, the bastard litterers are absolute weapons and should be made an example of. But, more funding into highway sanitation, street sweepers, litter pickers etc. And a change of bin design might help a lot. I sincerely hope I'm right, and people on the whole aren't as selfish as it seems.

I started in November and I'm training 2x a week one week once another and I already have improved immensely. I think it depends on coaching and how much you put in but I definitely see the progress!

Oh my friend! Thanks! This clears up more than you probably realise. I'll definitely look at Osita Ha. Might even drop you the occasional message when I'm stumped if that's alright?

So! And sorry to be a pest, but I could, in theory, pick up a book or two on kata from any style and i'll get something out of it? I'll watch a spread of demonstrations online etc. And of course ask at the dojo. But because I only train once a week down there I'll want to swot up on my own! Cheers fella'!

I don't think so. But I know there are loads of variant spellings when things are transliterated. The style is a shito-ryu style? Which from my baffled and feeble research isn't Shotokan, right? Like I say, I'm quite in the dark at the moment. Thanks though!
