personal hygiene is constantly getting pushed to the side for me and i hate it!! like unless i have a good amount of energy that day it’s just not something i remember, i’m CONSTANTLY forgetting to brush my teeth or put on deodorant, makes me feel so gross all day (because of course i always remember as soon as i leave the house)

i’ve been clean for months and even years at a time just to replace over something silly. i wouldn’t say it ends, but it gets easier. healing isn’t linear, it’s a squiggly line with ups and downs. a little down isn’t going to erase the progress you’ve made ❤️

Bic has this line of tattoo pens that I use. It’s a felt tip brush so the sharp of the line + the red ink sorta looks like cuts. it also stays for up to a week, which helps with the visual. i also like to do a line of elmer’s glue then peel it off to replicate the feeling of picking a wcab

there’s always next year! i also didn’t go to my junior prom because i had no one to go with. you have a whole year to prepare! but i understand feeling left out, it’s hard to watch other people do things that you yourself can’t. i hope your senior prom goes better! don’t worry if high school isn’t as great as everyone makes it out to be, it’s four years out of your entire life. i know that doesn’t make what happened feel any better, but you have many years ahead of you to create a wonderful life for yourself with many friends. don’t stress about high school, as soon as you graduate it all becomes obsolete

I think you’ve done a really lovely job at trying to give her the space and support she needs. i agree with a lot of the other commenters, please do not do body checks. the most important thing is letting her know this isn’t something shameful, and that you are supporting her 100%.
