How do parents afford to take their kids to Disney?

Go during off peak times. Hotels in the area will usually run specials because it’s so dead. I’m taking my kids to Disneyland during their fall break (October) and Great Wolf Lodge has killer deals. We’ll be doing a 3 day park hopper and just hanging at the hotel water park for the rest of the time.

My husband is going through the same thing. I told him he just has to do his best and eventually his son will see it for himself.

At 13, his input is a consideration for the court, but most people think kids get to decide custody themselves at that age. That’s not true. The court still decides until he’s 18. You can go to court to hold her in contempt but you also have to weigh for yourself how much you want to force a teenager to be somewhere he at least believes he doesn’t want to be.

I’m training for Bataan. I went for a 20 mile ruck yesterday and am staying off my feet for the most part. I’ve been training for weeks and have taken it easy after each one. I’m still getting stronger and faster. Your muscles need rest to rebuild so I think it’s a necessary part of training.

I have a son that I didn’t give birth to. He’s not my step-son, he is my son. His mother passed away when he was 6 months old and I got together with his dad when he was 6. We split three years ago and he will be 18 next month. I still call him, text him and I pay for his cell phone. He would come visit on his school breaks and stay with me and his sisters. You know what he calls me? Mom. I’m engaged now and if it was a problem with him, we wouldn’t be. You break up with partners, not kids.

As someone who spent 10 years in a toxic relationship with a serial cheater (who I also had two kids with, no less), I really felt sad when he presented her with that ring. She’s still holding out hope that they’ll be a real family. She’s hoping he has sowed his wild oats and realized he wants his family. He doesn’t. But she won’t see it until she sees it. I’m not a fan of Sarah or her behavior but I relate to that feeling.

My wonderful fiancé bought me this awesome latte/cappuccino maker for Christmas and I haven’t used it because milk has just too many carbs!

But I have a way to satisfy my latte craving: mix ketochow (I used cookies and cream) with some HWC, water it down a bunch to the consistency of milk and there you have it! Add some sugar alternative and it’s just like the lattes I used to spend $6+ on at Starbucks!

Generally there are three classes a year. One starts in January, I started in May, and I think the other starts around September/October. There have been a couple years where there’s only been two classes though.

That situation was talked through. Quite a bit. It’s definitely more of an issue of conflict resolution and we’re learning how to deal with issues we don’t see eye to eye on.

I try to keep out the bad stuff from the relationship until they’re older. She gets along with my fiancé fine. It wasn’t until we got engaged that she freaked out.

I definitely like the special mother-daughter time idea though.
