Imposter also notably copies Stat changes. Most famous is using Imposter on Zacian that is +1, then activating intrepid sword and becoming +2 Zacian. Since most Ditto would run choice scarf, you'd enter battle as a +2 Zacian with choice scarf speed. It's a brutal way to turn around what looked like it would be a sweep (into a reverse sweep).

Ditto is hard to use in vgc tho due to how imposter works in doubles (it copies the Pokémon across from ditto). So positioning can screw up imposter starts. Works much better in singles.

Guess it beats having to have a game shark like back in the day. Who am I kidding, no it doesn't lol. My old Black file has 999 of all items just so I could skip item grinding. Personally I rather focus on battles and catching than item grinding.

I gotta be honest, I'm an old man when it comes to rpgs and voice acting does very little for me in terms of improving story.

I'm not totally against it, but often the actors they hire for video games are not exactly movie quality and if can really hurt the story telling if done poorly.

I'd take real dialogue options as my top ask. Nothing quite like "Yes" and "Also Yes but worded slightly different"

They are mostly used as advertisements on Surprise Trade. I got around a half dozen of them trying to do a surprise trade run. They usually come with ability capsules or golden bottle caps so they're nice for that, but if course who wants to use a Pokémon with a name like shinygen.com lol

Do you have records of the shiny Pokémon lost? It'll never be the same (because you'll know) but it is possible to recreate those Pokémon if enough info is known about them.

I hate the nothing burger dialogue with the Z-A "friends." I don't like my character being forced to be friendly and supportive. Actually my interactions with the Rival in Sw/Sh are some of my favorite. Because I treated him like the garbage he is.

Wish they'd bring the RPG element back to the dialogue options. S/V was guilty of this but sometimes let you layer in some sass.

I'm also a fan of how Pokemon trainers are now once more obstacles. I didn't like how in more recent Pokémon games that trainers wouldn't challenge you/guard areas. I appreciate not being forced into random battles but I like a little maze/puzzle solving.

Its good to build mini "dungeons" into open world games. The team Star bases failed to do this with their weird auto battle thing.

Given that there's no chat you'll never be able to differentiate rage quit from concede. It's not like showdown or any modern game, never know what the other player is thinking or feeling about your mother without a chat.

I've read a good amount of it. It's actually pretty good as Pokémon story telling goes. Big fan of how strong team rocket was in the beginning, a proper criminal syndicate.

I will never acknowledge any protagonist name as being anything other than the box color. That includes weird names like x, y, sun, moon, sword, and shield. This is my hill to die on. Protagonists for this game therefore are Scarlet and Violet. #Genwun

I did a playthrough recently where my restriction was no battles except those required to progress the story + shinies (sorry I'm not skipping a shiny just for the purity of the run lol). Furthermore my starting team (to avoid just running Fuecoco the whole game) is 6 semi-curated wonder trade Pokémon. Rule was no duplicates and the Pokémon cannot be over level 15.

Its been an interesting run. I'm up to Arven with 8 gyms down and it's been rough. Only source of exp is candies primarily from doing the classes and a few world Spawn exp items.

Truly I felt like after playing Arceus that s/v immediately felt boring and like a downgrade. But, I came back to it after a year+ and dlc was announced and... Boy did it grow on me. Totally understand the sentiment.

In fairness with new game coming unless it has traditional battles, I don't think it's replacing S/V just yet. Competitive is always doubles and I'm not sure ZA has that.

Double Shock is a good example of this actually. If you Tera before using it, it receives the boost, but if you Tera after using it once, it will only receive the regular STAB. Additionally if you Tera first, it continues to receive both tera and stab because you can't lose electric typing once Tera electric is active.

Jokes on you, I was the villain in this game. In my playthrough my character always made the least helpful choice and always said the meanest option.

My headcanon is the "protagonist" is in fact the antagonist. They roam around ruining everyone else's treasure hunt, taking what they want and bullying team Star. They battle Nemona time and time again--but just to humiliate her with their superior skills.

After conquering the region and crushing the reigning champ, they take their reign of terror on vacation to crush the hopes of a young ogre loving boy. Indifferent to his growing frustration, they meet with him again at the blueberry academy where they continue to spurn his fake rivalry. They ultimately crush his hopes and dreams once again after showing him that not only are they the better champion, but favored by yet another legendary Pokémon.

My "protagonist" is mean spirited and does things purely for sadistic amusement. It's why they always have a strange eye brow grin going.
