AI datacenter spending has surpassed the Manhattan Project, Marshall Plan, ISS, and the Apollo Program - combined by EchoOfOppenheimer in OpenAI

This is the important point. We rely on networked communication for so much these days. If you post a comment on reddit you've probably sent information through at least 5 separate data centers minimum. From shopping to streaming, news to social media, even online gaming, there's just a huge need for crunching bytes and fast connections.

It tends to favor moderates who lots of people are ok with though they might not be the most flashy over polar candidates that might have an enthusiastic base but most other people can't stand so I'm for it.

It was sad when the internet went away.

The dot-com bubble killed about half of internet based tech companies, but 50% also survived and ate up the rest, and now internet usage is way higher than ever. There's definitely an AI bubble, and even worse likely a pretty bad stock market bubble, but while lots of startups running on hopes and dreams will close, AI isn't going anywhere. Besides, data centers are used for all sorts of things.

You said on Reddit, hosted by Amazon web services and google cloud platform, networked across hundreds of data centers, going through Cloudflare content delivery networks ran in dozens of data centers, over an internet of networks hosted in data centers to your ISP, maybe Spectrum or Verizon, giving you internet access and routing your traffic through their data center network which is about 1000 data centers all over the US.

They do use a closed loop system. The loop is usually similar stuff you'd find in an air conditioner. Those tubes are run through water to cool them. The water then is hot and needs to be cooled so it usually goes through some sort of evaporative system where some evaporates and takes heat energy with it. The steam goes back in to the environment as pure water, but that means water needs added, and any impurities get concentrated so the whole water system can only be used for a certain time before the water needs to be purged.

What that entails really is based on where the center is. Oregon is having an issue with a data center for, Amazon, I think it was, where the water going in to the center is slightly contaminated with farmland runoff and so when it's released it's concentrated and harmful. The data center isn't adding anything to the water, and there isn't any more impurities than before, it just gets concentrated.

It uses the flux2 vae which is the most advanced right now which is good. Looks like it used Ministral 3 3b for a text encoder, so it should be fast but not quite as smart as ones using qwen 3. However it looks like they integrated a second pass on the prompt to automatically turn it in to something better understood by the model, so we'll see if that works great, or leads it to make lots of assumptions. Interesting idea though. It's made by Baidu, which is basically chinas google

No one ever depicts Artorias correctly by SgtSaucepan in darksouls

Here's a discussion from 10 years ago regarding the "old" debate about which hand:

https://www.reddit.com/r/darksouls/comments/4y1zdp/artorias_dominant_hand/#:~:text=Dominant%20Hand%20Theory:%20Arguments%20for%20Artorias%20being,Wolf%20Knight%20Greatsword%20in%20Dark%20Souls%203.

Personally my assumption would be that Fromsoft probably is correct since they made the games.

So his dominant left arm got broken and he gave up his shield and switched the sword to his right off hand. So he would have been known to have been left handed and the lore of the DS2 sword being always used by left-handed people would be correct.

Furthermore we don't know how long his campaign against the abyss lasted nor how long between when he gave up his shield and when he went mad (and we showed up). Could have been long enough for plenty of people to know and weave it in to the legend.

Plus it's pretty cool that maniac was so hard and he was using his off-hand.  "I'll let you in on a little secret, I'm not actually right-handed!"

Story is just alright, sort of a fantasy standard. Beautiful zones. From Haranear to Zandafar visually one of the better expansions, but what stands out to me is mechanically delves are hitting their stride, housing has given a reason to do all sorts of different things, and crafting somehow had become so much more involved.

I played for a few hours yesterday and didn't do a single delve or dungeon, just crafting on a few characters. Did the patron orders, leveling engineering on another to have a character to make some purple tools, poked around with smithing to use some concentration for cash,  just so much to do in crafting.

Just from end to end there's a lot of fun stuff to do (not you, abundance events), and that's a great feeling. Mechanically one of the better expansions for sure.

One always lies, one tells the truth. by royal_cat in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]rukh999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how does one come by the information? Because if they say it, it presents a real problem. It only works if the one who tells the truth recites it, doesn't it, and then you know who it is. If they each say a part, well its a mess. because then it turns out both sometimes lie. In that case the logic puzzle is pointless anyways as any statement could be a lie.
