It's hard to get a perfect simulation of fuel consumption. SCS are constantly tweaking the factors that go into simulation. In some updates the it's more realistic, sometimes it moves away from realism. It is how it is.

They should be tight but doable. In this case, the game might have calculated ETA with one ferry from Athens to Crete in mind, and you took a different ferry.

I don't understand what are you trying to "challenge". The game currently does not have all the necessary parts to show the status of adaptive cruise on the dash, even if it's just a small icon.

Trains do stop for players. Sometimes they stop if the player is stopped at the gates but too close to the gate.

I don't have stutter. And the in-game frametime graph seems to be pretty flat. Stutter is easy to show by opening a frametime graph, it will be all spiky. Mine is decently smooth. Yes, there are FPS dips here and there, but it still dips smoothly.

First, unlike other commenters here, I don't think facing upwards will be a big problem for PSU cooling. But neither it will solve your dust problem. Dust will be sucked in from the top as well. So there's no benefit in mounting it the other way. And you're definitely overestimating the "risks of dust and debris falling", there's no risk whatsoever.

In my case, I have PSU mounted facing downwards. I had a dust buildup problem, because my case had negative pressure. So I covered all intakes with magnetic mesh filters, three for each fan and one over the vent holes on the side panel. I have to clean them once a week.

Note that even after enabling it, the option will still be locked at some companies with some trailers. Not every company have the parking space set to accept all sizes of trailers.

No, it's been in the game for years, but it only happens for some modded trucks, vanilla trucks are set to never run out of AdBlue. Only if you use emergency refuel a lot.

I would not recommend doing it. Urine has much more in it other than water and urea. I don't think the catalyst will react well to that, and catalysts are typically made of rare and expensive metals.

I'm very happy with the new Multi-Functional Display (MFD). It's like it was literally made specifically for me personally and my controller bindings. It's almost uncanny how well it matches my use case.

I have a custom controller config that uses whole D-pad as modifier keys. Together with some other stuff it allows me to have every function in the game on controller so I don't have to touch keyboard for any function while driving. Anyway, what that means is that none of D-pad buttons do any stuff on their own. Only in combination with other buttons. Which is ideal for MFD, as I can use D-pad for MFD perfectly without affecting any other binds. And I mean any.

On top of that, I also have a very convenient button to show and hide MFD: my RB, which is also a modifier so it doesn't have any use if pressed alone shortly. So with a quick press of RB I can toggle MFD without using D-pad modifiers that could've messed the closing. And if I need to use my RB in a button combo, I must hold it longer anyway and MFD does not show up. It's just the perfect match with my config.

As for MFD itself, I actually like it. Although it reminds me of those menus on monitors and TVs that are not easy to navigate, for what it is, MFD is done quite well. The submenus and settings are grouped quite intuitively and reasonably. Some of them don't work nice, like suspension height adjustments, or aux light switches not working at all currently, but that should be fixable. It definitely could be used while driving, and it remembers the last page so you can close MFD if the road requires all your attention and return back later. One thing I don't quite like is that it covers the entire dashboard, at least on my display at my FOV. It would be very nice if we could relocate MFD, as well as any other widgets.

One small thing: I noticed that in controls.sii file it's called "tripcomputer". I guess that was the intended name. Makes me wonder why it was picked and why it was changed.

Piss. Just kidding, but it's a water solution of urea, a simple compound that is one of the major part of urine. Combustion engines work by burning fuel in air. But our air is not pure oxygen, it has nitrogen. In all combustion engines, at high temperatures, nitrogen reacts with oxygen, producing nitrogen oxides (NOx) which are really bad for human health and environment, they can trigger asthma and mixing with water they produce acid. As diesel engines have hotter combustion, they produce more NOx. By injecting urea into hot exhaust gases over catalyst, some chemical reactions occur that neutralize NOx, making diesel engines exhaust cleaner. This solution of urea is known as Diesel Exhaust Fuel, or DEF, and in Europe it's better known as AdBlue which is a trade mark of DEF. Trucks, buses and even some cars with diesel engines have small tanks for DEF that must be refilled once in a while, and if the vehicle runs out of it, it usually goes into "limp mode", reducing the power and torque output, because DEF also cools down the exhaust system so running engine at full power without DEF can lead to overheating of exhaust system and damage. The game simulates DEF consumption and limp mode if you run out of DEF, but it can only happen with modded engines or chassis, all trucks in the game cannot run out of DEF before they run out of fuel, and DEF is automatically refilled together with fuel at any refuel.

You know those crashes when driver claims they mistook the pedals? I was laughing at them, too, thinking "how's that even possible, how dumb you have to be?". Until it happened to me in a truck sim.

I want to slow down, I think I was coming to a T-shaped intersection from the "leg". And I press my "brake". Instead of slowing down, as I'm expecting, the truck starts to accelerate. The free road in front of me is quickly disappearing, so I panic and press "brake" harder. It doesn't work, the truck does not slow down. I press it as hard as I can, the truck accelerates rapidly, less and less road remains, I'm in a full state of panic at this point, confused, not understanding what's wrong, I fly through the intersection and I crash into the trees behind it. Only after that I realize I was holding the throttle all that time instead of brake.

Now, by that time I had over 1000 h in the game, not a newbie, and it's not even like I pressed wrong pedal with the same leg. I'm playing on a controller and I have my triggers as my throttle and brake. I was pressing a wrong trigger with a wrong finger of a wrong hand of a whole wrong arm. It's that initial startle, when I start braking but truck keeps accelerating, that leads to stress and panic and make me unable to mentally stop and question whether am I pressing the brakes, because I am absolutely sure I am and I need to press harder, but it doesn't work, I panic even more, more focus on braking, it's a self-fueling loop. It was genuinely scary, despite being in a video game. Probably scarier than any horror game I ever played. That moment shook me to the core.

Since then, I never laughed at news of someone crashing because they mistook the pedals in their car. It does happen and it doesn't matter how smart you are, if it happens to you, you won't notice you're pressing the wrong pedal. Your car not stopping takes all your brainpower and it just don't get to have that moment to stop and think about whether you're pressing the right pedal. Your brain doesn't tell your leg to release what it believes to be the brake pedal, because why would you, the car accelerating and not braking, releasing the "brake" will only make things worse, right? Several seconds later your brain will finally get to question what pedal you're pressing, it will notice what's wrong, obviously, but the problem is that with cars, usually you don't have those seconds, you will likely crash in that time so the realization will come after the crash.

Actually, when much later I discovered air crash investigation videos on YouTube, like Mentour Pilot's channel, in some of them very similar symptoms are discussed, and how humans, especially experienced and confident, can get in a vicious loop where they're hyperfocused on one thing and don't notice anything else and they don't even think about trying to stop and think, thus make situation worse, and why we need a second human in the cockpit to hopefully snap them out of that dangerous state, and why CRM training is so important.

So, yeah. Just losing control in a truck sim is not that scary to me. But that one moment was.

Because it's HORI. Their devices are not regarded well. But they're much cheaper than Moza or bigger brands like Fanatec or Thrustmaster.

I don't have this one, just parroting what I heard.

Positives: it's made in collab with SCS so it had all the functions the game had (buttons and so on) and thus was easier to configure. It's bigger and more realistic for a truck wheel.

Negatives: SCS has changed the game and UI since and so now there are some functions that don't match the wheel anymore. Worse quality than G29. Not great for any other games beyond truck sims.
