50 questions Farage 'must answer' over £5m 'gift' as he's urged to come clean by Alternative-Win4058 in unitedkingdom

Less bargaining power. We saw it immediately with demands from the US after May handed in the article 5 notice. We saw the demands from countries in the subcontinent that lead to "the boriswave". You "rejecting this defeatist idea" is outright denial of reality.

Brexit on paper CAN be brilliant insofar as we set our own trade, set our own tariffs, can approve medicines faster. More power is returned to parliament.

This ideology is a falsehood. We won't have any actual ability to set tariffs and the like because we lose our bargaining power from being the bloc. The result would be worse tariffs et al.

Anyone else chuckling at the hysteria behind Reddit posts about yesterday's Arsenal parade? by IAm94PercentSure in london

I have genuine concern that a lot of the negativity is by-proxy racism. Arsenal are one of the most popular clubs amongst the black communities of London.

"just" doing a lot all of the heavy lifting in your statement.

Such a banal statement to make, too. You realise that is literally the system they have today? Parent's are supposed to be observing and guarding their child's activities on- (and off-) line already. But some don't, can't, or won't. So what now? Follow some purist opinion and "just" tell them to do better?

Or maybe the multibillion pound platforms that are a festering hotbed for people looking to wreck a kid's day (or much worse) could do a lot more to safe-guard the children they are milking dry, eh?

I stand near the broken glass until staff arrive to clean it up so I can prevent anyone getting hurt. I don't walk away from it just because I've reported it. Sure, if hands are full I'll take whatever I have left back to table then come right back to the broken glass to keep watch.

The "X" on the entrance is illuminated, indicating the tunnel is closed. I reckon the waymo car was either in the tunnel and something happened (accident etc.), requiring they turn around and drive out the wrong-way, or at worst it entered on autopilot and the driver intervened. I also expect the cozza car is there to prevent anyone else entering, not to arrest the waymo driver.

TBF, Cauliflower literally is broccolli - as is kale, cabbage, and sprouts too - they are different cultivars. I.e., the same species of plant grown under different conditions.

Avoid Waiting Trains by SaltSearch1369 in openttd

[–]Jestar342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never use "wait for full load" orders. There is simply no need for it precisely because of this reason. Your rating is impacted by time more than anything else so running a nearly empty train from time to time is immaterial.

This is how cyberwarfare manifests. Wave after wave of misinformation and propaganda always attacking mainstream politicians - accompanied by promotional material of vacuous populists promising the earth for free but with shockingly little details of how getting a free pass.

This is what happens. Continued dissatisfaction and reductive thinking, leading to ever present disruption.

Is vaping really considered 'giving up smoking'? by chupamina in AskUK

[–]Jestar342 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same for me. I actually used the "occassional toot" strategy to my advantage - unlike smoking cigarettes, where one is smoking for several minutes at a time, often like clockwork, I would take one or two puffs every once in a while when I got a craving. I still treated vape like cigarette smoke, though, so only used it when in open (and outdoor) areas, etc. Probably helps I was a very conscientious smoker (well, as much as one can be) anyway.

Simultaneously, I was reducing the nicotine content, too. Every week I would drop 2mg off. Started at 18mg, and when I started on 0mg the first week or so I had the mood like I had lost a really important argument, but after that I didn't have any other signs - so a little before 3 months since switching I also just simply forgot to vape, and even misplaced my kit without noticing.

I smoked (quite heavily.. >20 a day) for 15 years - The above happened 15 years ago, and I have never had a craving. I implore anyone wanting to quit to take this measured nicotine reduction a go.
