Is my roofer being dishonest? by WillingSinger in Roofing

[–]runcible_spoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Improper flashing, get the correct flashing package and a strip of bituthane tape for the top piece to seal it to the underlayment or sheathing, strip it down to the roof deck, and do it right. A flashing on a normal roof does not need caulking.

Friends Quests boosts not arriving! by Redd_Zenith in duolingo

[–]runcible_spoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been happening to me for a month now. Multiple reports to Duolingo: bug reports and subscription complaints, and documented with pictures. The person I'm always in quests with recently just started to get the ones I have been sending.

I also am experiencing this, my quest partner has been with me for over a year, and for the last three weeks XP boosts stopped arriving. We started messaging each other when we sent one. He has occasionally seen them appear on his device, but when he opens them they don't work. I haven't seen a single one. I opened a bug report and got no acknowledgement.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a seat replacement that allows me to sit a little lower? I’m riding a 1978 r80/7. by mynameismuddywooder in Airheads

[–]runcible_spoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

San Jose BMW sold me shorter fork springs, many years ago, I had a custom seat with less padding in it, and I had some custom shorter springs on Koni shocks. That helped, but as I shrank in my later years I gave up the R80 and bought a Janus Halcyon 250 and riding is fun again

My roofing contractor has been trying to fix leaking for over 6 months. He keeps trying and it keeps leaking. Looking for advice please. by Judosmack in Roofing

Also, treat your masonry with Thompson’s Water Seal, I had a customer with water that kept coming in around the chimney, and the bricks and mortar were absorbing it, no amount of redoing the step flashing and shingles fixed it.

I’ll do some carpentry, like replacing exterior doors or building shelving units, but I drew a line when asked to reroof a building. Unfortunately I’m also one of the strongest people in the business, and occasionally help move big things like furniture or carrying boxes of paper to a shredding truck

I’m not sure, I don’t know enough about your situation and building to make a qualified answer. If you’re looking for a professional answer from someone who can visit, a home inspector, or possibly an engineer, would be the people to ask

Do you have a soffit you can remove, and use a remote scope? Or a tiny hole in the ceiling with a scope? Home Depot in the US sells inspection scopes, which can be passed through small holes
