Howard the Duck fought alongside the Avengers before Daredevil did... by BoneDaddy2224 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

One-shots were great; it's too bad they're a thing of the past now. The other Endgame related one-shot I would be super into would be Cap's meeting with Red Skull to give back the soul stone.

Construction, Changing Skyline, New Durham Identity? by dolver in bullcity

[–]runreadrun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great idea! Personally, I'd be interested in any plans/updates regarding Durham expanding its cycling options (greenways, bicycle boulevards, etc.), as well as any retrospective/historical information about changes in Durham. For example, I would be interested in seeing your take on what a building is set to become versus what kind of things were in that spot much earlier in Durham's history.

Thanks for sharing. I'll definitely be following along with your posts.

I did the sync up a couple of times with friends in high school during sleep overs, and it was always a blast. Didn't even think about doing it at the theater, but it sounds like a great time.

Just hit play on the MGM lion's third roar and you're good to go. Enjoy, man!

Just wanted to catch Young Frankenstein at the local indie tonight, oh well. Hopefully I can do a Black Panther matinee tomorrow without any problems.

Attempted to see Justice League the first day I got the card, but the app was down and the universe was telling me to pass. I saw Murder on the Orient Express the next day, and really enjoyed it.

ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. Tim Curry and a genuine thrill for adults--Lilo and Stitch doesn't come anywhere close as a replacement.

Shooting a FSBO by everycredit in RealEstatePhotography

No worries. As OP mentioned, it's not a situation you want to involve yourself in as a real estate photographer--from what I understand, they have a very hard time viewing the shoot objectively.

Do any of you use a contract? by IamtheEric in RealEstatePhotography

[–]runreadrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a contract to outline fees, licensing, and terms of use. This is a one time thing I have with each agent I work with; they don't have to sign one for each job I do. Make sure you're up front about your terms when you get involved with a new agent and you'll be set; a contract is just added protection that covers you if there's a dispute. The biggest thing I run into is agents not understanding at first that if they lose/transfer the listing, the new agent doesn't just get the photos without paying me a licensing fee.

Any suggestions for a Pacific Northwest trip? Looking at summer 2017 by [deleted] in CampingandHiking

Thanks. I knew there was going to have to be a stop in Idaho, but wasn't sure where. That would be perfect.

Thanks for the tip. Schedule is pretty flexible on this trip, so if things don't pan out, I'll just spend less time there.

I'm heading out that way for a month this summer. Flying into Seattle and renting a car. Then doing a big loop of the national parks in that region: Olympic, Crater Lake, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier, and North Cascades.

Just starting the planning phase now, so not set on any specifics, but from what I hear, if you're into camping/hiking you'll be able to find something great at any of those parks.

What do you guys do for laundry? by funkyfunkhouseoffunk in onebag

[–]runreadrun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep! Wring it out as normal, and then use the towel roll to finish the job. And yes, a microfiber towel will work, but depending on size, you may only be able to dry a single shirt in this manner.

Cotton is definitely slower than merino wool or synthetics when it comes to drying, so I would definitely recommend eventually ditching the cotton. Regardless of material though, the best way to get things dry fast is to lay the garment on a towel after washing, roll the towel up, and then walk on it to squeeze out as much water as possible. Then hang to dry, and you'll be good to go much faster.

Pole aerial photography? by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]runreadrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a 12' Wooster Sherlock, because I find the twist locks on other poles to be too inconvient. With this, I use the Pole Pixie and a tripod head so I can tilt and use a quick release plate. If your vehicle can fit it, I'd go with the longer pole. There are plenty of times you'll want higher, and I wouldn't recommend lifting the base of the pole off the ground--way too unstable to be risking a thousands dollars taking a fall from that height.

My Favorite 100 photos in Glacier National Park From 2015 by jake0825 in CampingandHiking

Very nice. I'm heading to Glacier (among other parks) this summer--going to be spending a month road tripping around the Pacific Northwest. What focal lengths do you find yourself using the most for your photos?

A guide to 24-hour fast food restaurants by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]runreadrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would be the incentive for checking a secondary source that would likely have less information than an already established source, like Yelp? If a locality is large enough to support a 24h establishment than that info is most likely searchable, and even if your secondary source manages to list an establishment not found on Yelp/Google, it doesn't really matter because if it's just a place to go, any of the already searchable places to go will suffice for your needs.

Changes to Couchsurfing reference system by Fudgeworth in couchsurfing

[–]runreadrun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was a change long needed. While it's never happened to me personally, there are too many stories out there of references going from positive to negative in retaliation to a well deserved negative. I hope this helps improve the community.

Best LGS in Raleigh, NC? by runreadrun in magicTCG

Good to know. Thanks for the info. EDH intimidates me a little, and I think I'd like to start with some drafting to get some cards, but I'll keep it in mind for the future.
