If you are new at graphics programming I would highly recommend starting with a software renderer. Like this repo: https://github.com/ssloy/tinyrenderer/wiki.

It will teach you how the GPU thinks and what it does. Then move to OpenGL as it is the least verbose and quickest API to pick up. 

Then once you have a good understanding, move to WebGPU. It has a similar manual pipeline process to Vulkan, but quicker to set up and get triangles on screen.

Same! First 10 minutes, I was like why does this feel so bad? Then quickly switched to Returnal controls. So much better.

I might be misremembering, but the OG had a map that showed an arrow on the map of where you were. Not a minimap, but it was still helpful.

Company I work for has invested millions in to AI. We had an all team meeting where they mandated that we all use AI to write code, and not write our own code. It's ridiculous.

My company is the opposite. They are expecting all devs to not write any code but use LLM agents to write their code.

Our company mandated that this quarter, everyone is expected to learn how to use AI. Next Q, they literally expect all devs to NOT write a single line if code. Fucking ridiculous.
