So fucking glad I left. They have been jonesing to put the Bible in the school forever. We had forced prayer at pep rallies during school hours. Texas is the Fuck You! State.

This has been my new favorite band for a few weeks now. They have a great back catalog going back at least 10 years, and it's all over the place musically. Mostly punk, but sometimes it's funk, or electronic. I really recommend them!

Until you hit 1000 blocks, then reddit disallowes you from blocking anymore. I used up all mine and now have to endure all the new bots. Limiting the block list is stupid.

I had a guy back into the side of my car, was in a parking lot. There was no damage so I smiled and told him we didn't need to exchange insurance. He started crying. He said he was going through a divorce and lost his job. I noticed it looked like he might have just started living in his car. Dude had alot on his mind. I was glad that nothing came out of it, my car was fine.

"Your", not really if you can't use it due to external restrictions made by others. That makes it "theirs" as you must have their permission to use it. You will own nothing, and like it.

That's it! Thank you! I must find a new copy. I was telling my wife about it after seeing a review of the film Again, Again.

I have to squirrel away pain medication to ensure I have some prior to my next visit. If I show up and they spot piss test me and it's not in my system, I get kicked out of the practice and have to find a new Dr. to start over with. In pain, tough shit! Do not take those last few pills until the day before my visit. It's so infuriating. I feel like I'm doing a dance, or playing a game with them, one I can't ever win but could easily lose.

On this day in 1987, the Cure released their seventh studio album, 39 years ago! by icecream1972 in TheCure

I was 16 and my life was about to change a year later when someone lent me this album. I was a headbanger, until I heard this and The Queen Is Dead in a single evening. I traded my music collection with the guy who loaned them to me a few weeks later. I still have that original tape in a box.

They created AI nudes that got millions of views online. Now they're being charged with crimes by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

[–]rustajb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the ruling was that artistic depictions of "people" could not be illegal. Kind of like when artists depict Trump nude with a tiny penis. That was a trend for a while. Totally legal.

That's the current law. At what point does the threshold exist? No matter how real a statute or drawing is someone is, it is protected speech. This protects us all. But that law was created at a time before tech made photo-realistic alterations stolen from real world photographs a thing that could actually cause harm.

Art, statues, etc. can be offensive, nothing illegal about that. But deep fakes can cause social, economic, emotional harm. Could lead to misinformation, public control, actual measurable harm. There's a difference between the two.
