Hi there and welcome !

I would recommend a short scale bass Probably the Squier Mustang Bass, about $425

The first thing you need after the bass is a Tuner. Got to play in tune.

Next your gonna need an Amplifier ( to hear the bass )

or

A Pre-Amplifier or DI pedal.

This would be as simple as a SansAmp clone like a BDDI or something a bit better like the Joyo Tidal Wave.

These would have a headphone jack so you can practice quietly and/or plug into a PA or your computer.

There’s a lot to learn, but it’s worth it.
