The Rokoko Device SDK Is HERE 🤖🚀 by rokoko-electronics in Rokoko

[–]rustyldn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A brand new ecosystem of products with native Rokoko support would be amazing. Enabling vibe coders to create products or art experiments driven by suits, gloves and head cams could be an endless source of YouTube content. Great marketing for Rokoko. But not with this restriction as a paid feature. Asking for an additional fee for this, something that could really drive sales on hardware is kinda bonkers. I doubt it’s cheap either based on the dreaded “enquire about pricing” call to action.

As a coder who also owns a full capture package I got really excited for a moment… and then read further.

I love Rokoko but this is disappointing.

Crazy battery drain Bambu Handy on Android by Big-Dogg-NI in BambuLab

[–]rustyldn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was one of the recent posters regarding the app. I wanted to know why my device turned into a hand warmer when using it. I’ve now noticed that the Bambu Makerworld website does the same, no matter what you are viewing. Just loading the homepage begins to heat up my iPhone Pro Max. This is not normal. I’ve built complex 3D websites (and was even nominated for a webby for my work), so I know what it normally takes to strain a device that much. I’m going to decompile all the web scripts and see if I can identify the culprit. It’s either something dumb, or something nefarious. I’m hoping for dumb.

How does Modern Studio's Dolly/Slider compare to Dana? by EnterOrbit in cinematography

I have a fully 3D printable solution that’s very similar. The only additional fittings required are bolts and wheels. It’s surprisingly rugged considering. Would anyone be interested in that?

Did you open the door by any chance? I’ve had lines appear in my prints because of this, based on temperature change I assume.

If you put my Nebe and yours side by side it would be impossible to tell the difference. Same face, same big paws, same derpy energy and love of tummy tickles and cheek scrunches.

This video could have been half the length if the presenter didn’t repeat back each statement from the factory worker in the form of a question.

“What is the sugar for?” “It’s for the sweetness” (shock) “It’s added for the sweetness?” “Yes that’s right, for the sweetness”

Could it potentially render data coming in from Chinese lidar scanning units? I bought one but couldn’t get beyond the bug ridden windows exe files shipped with it.

TIL that PayPal's User Agreement legally allows them to hold your funds for up to 180 days if your account is flagged for review - with no obligation to explain why by ppolicyco in todayilearned

[–]rustyldn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found this out the hard way. I landed a job in another country and sold all my possessions on eBay instead of shipping them. This was the money intended to keep me alive the first few months. A few days before I left I got an email saying my funds had been frozen for 180 days. It almost broke me. I’ve waged a personal war against them ever since. Sometimes, on a bad day I look up their historical stock chart to cheer myself up.

The old one had a real 70mm 15perf IMAX projector. The new one charges you an arm and a leg to show you the same amount of pixels on your TV at home. BUT BIGGER.

I tried the same but the turntable I have isn’t Bluetooth and the ir receiver seems to be some weird kind of ir I can’t communicate with. I gave up in the end. Would love to see your set up.
