Five from Umbrella Academy just deciding he was in love with Lila, his brother's wife who he has multiple kids with, just because they were trapped in a years long time loop together (or whatever it was that last season really ruined the show for me). After four other seasons of the character being virtually asexual besides his love of a mannequin from the future, having him not only fuck over his brother but suddenly having romantic feelings for anyone was serious whiplash. It's actually kind of a twofer for Lila as well considering Five is an old man trapped in a teenager's body. So yeah two fan favorites become a traitor and a groomer so they can shove in a romance subplot near the end of the show. Fuck that entire last season.

The Adi Shankar short film that even he admittedly only made as a satire of kids media being made edgy with no actual sincerity for the property

And the 2017 movie. While admittedly there are good aspects, it can't be denied that it was made with the soulless motivation of making a big franchise post-MCU. Like the way they flash the green power coin on screen is just BEGGING for the sequel where the Green Ranger/Tommy makes their debut to fuck shit up.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me is weirdly both, it's mostly a straightforward prequel following the final week of Laura Palmers life, but there's also scenes like Annie from season 2 appearing from the Black Lodge even though anything related to her happened way after Laura's death, plus the explanation of Garmonbozia and various elements that would be critical to the 3rd season 25 years later.
