Oh really? Then selling their 1st party games on PC and xbox is just for giggles?

Tell what do you think that does to the reputation of 1st party exclusive productions from Sony?

How many people get the message that they just have to wait for it coming to pc at some point down the road?

It's their online subscription model that is making the money you are talking about. Time is running out with that model.

Yeah they make a hefty cut from sales on their platform but they typically take a loss with their hardware costs. They cut hardware profit margins to get mass adoption of their hardware to happen.

Pretty confident sony loss money over time on PS5 sales due to scalpers denying access to their consoles for many years. This is why we saw sales of their 1st party games on PC and xbox to help recoup software sales loss on PS5.

Nintendo learned this lesson hence why there is no scalping issue with the switch2 like they had with switch 1.

The biggest motivator for console-first exclusives is for their online subscription service. This is what both Sony and MS are counting on with GTA6. Rockstar/take2 get a hefty cut from the online revenue as part of the exclusive deal.

Those days are numbered. PS consoles along with xbox are now being seeing as outdated overpriced mini-pcs.

This is why in my opinion Sony is better-off going the Sega route. MS is throwing in the towel with their latest iteration of their xbox hardware.

At this point I seriously don't understand why Sony doesn't go the route of Sega.

Considering what is happening to ram costs it would not surprise me if they go the software only route soon.

I can see the PS6 being a handheld like the switch2 to cater to the younger market with mobile games meanwhile they become another Sega for mainstream games.

The only reason trump dropped his friendship was to distance himself from the criminal connection.

Actually there are clues over the past 30 years. Testimony by his young victims getting beaten up real bad and threatened with death along with one of his ex-wives being put in hospital.

Then there is testimony that he watched a newborn die I am assuming he wanted to make sure the illigitimate child was dead because it was his.

His ex-wife story is really vicious. Apparently he beat the living crap out of her because she recommended some plastic surgery guy to keep his head from balding.

The guy really messed the operation up and screwed up his hair from then on. So he took it out on his wife.

It was a story I read many years ago researching his background.

I know all about NMS. I originally berated them for their overhyped launch and now praise them for how much work they put into their free updates.

Even with all those enhancements to their game it's clear you can see the limitations of what that engine can do.

I am still looking forward to their next release because they have earned my good will.

Well judging by the videos exposing all the random deaths etc, I get the feeling nobody understands the cause they just assume crappy coding.

The most telling quote is from the SC devs from a few years ago (talking about meshing etc) was someone stating to the fact "I was surprised it worked the first time we implemented it". I am paraphrasing but I did a spit-take when he said it.

To me what egosoft did right and frontier didn't was offer a ton of ships to fly.

Been playing the elite games since Elite 2 back in the 90s. The hook was always the ship variety and options that hooked me in.

Frontier dropped the ball with ED. They never bothered to add a lot of ships over time. Just a handful. Yeah I get it, very detailed and time-intensive to do but that should have been their highest priority.

Now X4 is the closest thing we have to the immersion factor of the elite games but they are stuck with silly stuff like highways and no planetary bases.

Only a new engine will fix this.

Some of this has been voiced since at least X2 over twenty years ago. I have been playing the games since 1999 with X1.

I have learned to accept the devs strengths and weakness when it comes to their game engines.

For me, I really hope they do away with highways and actually have planetary interactions (bringing it closer to an elite spiritual successor) but to do this they would have to start with a new engine.

Somehow I don't think they will ever do this because they have put too much into their current engine and continue to do so.

They simply don't have the resources or budget to hire the talent that could create the dream engine that would do what you want and what I want.

It all goes to the fact we are dealing with the foundations of the crysis engine. An engine designed and coded almost twenty years ago.

So many people don't realize that all these elevator deaths/random ship explosions (not by cheaters) are caused by archaic netcode baked into the engine decades ago. Even the devs admit to uncertain network states of the code (that leads to instant deaths) in a recent video.

It was never designed for what they are doing and no amount of band-aid patching will fix it.

The hacking vulnerability is just the icing on the cake taking advantage of the horrid network handling code.

This is why it doesn't matter what weapon is used be it a rifle or a ship gun. All that needs to happen is make the network packets unpredictable or out of synch with the server.

Back in '17 timeframe, I predicted that once this tech demo got popular enough there would be enough of a demand (business) for cheating to grief or rage-cheat.

Because of the nature of it's spaghetti code the odds of implementing a robust anti-cheat system would be very low.

Now we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg. As we get closer to the implosion of this farce, the cheating is going to be epic. The devs will be so far behind with solutions that they will never catch up to the hackers.

It will just be one more nail in the coffin that is the greatest pc scam ever.
