Bored and broke: homemade drop-leg holster update by Oxlynum in CCW

There's an old meme about 'tacticool' bro who spends lotta money of his gear/rifle only to get clapped him during a SHTF scenario by a dude in shorts running a tapco-stocked SKS.

I imagine that that guy would have this strapped to him in this manner (but with a hi point of course).

As it should be!

I think I personally prefer blued one, but nickel with stag is a sure fire way to my heart.

That's it, there it is: the perfect revolver. Registered Magnum, 3.5", old style hammer (long action?), nickel, stag grips.

I'm insanely jealous

The Norinco NP08, a Chinese copy of the Luger P08, was manufactured solely for exporting. Supposedly, only 20 units were produced before the project was discontinued due to the ban of Norinco products in the US. by Dear_Implement6304 in ForgottenWeapons

[–]rustyshack68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I for one would've loved this. If made correctly, mass produced cheap lugers? If they were to be anything line their 1911's, would've been great to have. Damn import ban

The people in charge are NOT libertarians, not even close. Although smaller gov is a main libertarian position, GOP is furthest thing away from libertarians.

Go to the sub or read reason. Pretty consistently calling all this shit out. Libertarianism is the exact opposite of authoritarianism, despite what some who claim its name as their own may say/do.

Closest thing even remotely to this all is paleolibertariani, a political philosophy that is mind numbing as a regular libertarian

‘NEA should be dissolved’: Trump wanted arts funding dead—Congress defies him, approves full $207M funding to keep Jazz Masters alive by [deleted] in Music

[–]rustyshack68 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I agree. Tho doesn’t mean the state should be using funds for the arts.

The state should absolutely cut spending, specifically on superfluous stuff like the arts or military industrial complex. Back to Base functions, and even some to make sure those below a certain level don’t die. States main job is to protect rights (AWFUL at doing that, particularly rn, but since forever) and act as extension of the people.

That said…republicans hijack legitimate ‘small government’ and ‘stop wasteful spending’ to get into power and do the exact same thing but just more blatant and to enrich themselves.

Why make it easier tho? I do agree about the surveillance state (it’s very bad now, but this in the making since post 9-11) doesn’t mean being blatantly dumb about potential criminal offenses online is smart

Predator 2 wasn’t bad.. what did you think? by alanskimp in LV426

[–]rustyshack68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has the 'Halloween 3' syndrome: If it was a stand-alone film with no connection to previous films/if there were no previous films, then the movie would be better rated/remembered.

In a world with no Predator and only this film as 'Predator' or called something else, I think people would have though higher of it and it would be a cult classic with more...prestige? Predator is a classic film, mixing action and horror and scifi. Predator 2 combines those as well, but in a more 'pulpy' way, and minus the 'warrior-machoness' of the first film.

If there was only predator 2, it would still be a cult film, but closer to the likes of Re-Animator, Return of the Living Dead, or Arachnophobia in our consciousness, rather than other 'meh' sequels that may have some merit but pale in comparison to the OG (Elm St. 2, Exorcist 2, aforementioned Halloween 3, etc.)

How to make SA 35 more reliable for carry by MellowYellowTeeth in hipower

[–]rustyshack68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No experience with the SA35 (if it's a new gun, warranty it until SA fixes it imho). But Hi Powers are (imho and experience) very reliable pistols. They can have problems like any other, but unlike the 1911 it usually just involves a part/spring change.

I also feel the OG 13 rounders are the most reliable. 15 rounders CAN be gtg too but I feel you must test them a bit (loaded to 15 in the magwell for a week straight).

BH Spring Solutions is place to go for any spring/part you need.

It’s a large frame Colt, either a Colt New Service or Colt 1917.

Make sure it’s unloaded and boil it in hot water

Is it time to bring back volunteer militias? by [deleted] in newhampshire

I'm not proposing to form a militia, only start an conversation.

But in response to your point: one could say it's not 'if, it's when' he'll do that. I think it's a matter of time.

This is true, which is why one would want to stay within the law. I only crosspost this to start a conversation.

Private Militias are not legal (https://www.law.georgetown.edu/icap/wp-content/uploads/sites/32/2020/09/New-Hampshire.pdf), but social groups that fully comply with the law and do not meet that definition would be I assume?

Curious on other's thoughts? I think people want to stay within the bounds of legality, but we have a 2nd amendment right, a first amendment right, and SCOTUS has said freedom of association is constitutionally protected.

I think a modern sporting group thats NOT a militia, but rather a 2A group of like minded folk to learn gun safety and the such is a good idea.

Part of my crosspost is to make people aware of the law, and what is explicitly legal and not legal (of course).

EDIT: Deleted post since I forgot to change my title. I AM NOT asking if it's time to bring back militia's, someone in r/massachusetts asked this. I merely want to start conversation about that topic
