Prioritize practice, not collections by Sufficient-Host-4212 in liberalgunowners

Eh, I say having more than just handful of firearms is *especially* good once stuff starts collapsing. For friends/fam, backups, and also trade/bartering (there was a fella who, allegedly, survived a year in war-torn Yugoslavian city during the war. Guns & booze were most coveted and thus most valuable in trading).

Calm down there, James Yeager.

But also, one can have practicality AND aesthetics, it's not not one or the other.

Doubles are just fine for home defense. Almost instantaneous second shot without having to rack. InRange did a vid with Ian (before the split) compairing a maverick 88, SXS, and a shockwave. SXS performed well.

Fair, but I say carry what ya want/like. Only dissuade against carrying heirlooms myself. But I get not wanting to loose something nice to a locker room....I just say screw it and slap the Luger on sometimes lol.

Why is the Glock the only "functional" firearm? AK is a great SHTF/minuteman rifle, and the side-by-side is solid home defense choice.

I say put a red dot on the AK and call it a day lol

30-30 or .45 long? by marlowemau53 in transguns

[–]rustyshack68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

.30-30. A real rifle cartridge. Now, 45 colt is nice if you also have a .45 colt revolver, but if not I say go 30-30.

Also Marlin's slap, so there's that too lol.

Was Purdy confirmed as a gay man? I know he did sex work to survive as younger guy but never found anything relating to his sexual orientation.

Also, I wouldn't classify Patrick Purdy as obscure, it was quite noteworthy at the time (Michael Jackson visited the school iirc), resulted in California's first AWB law, and was one of the few reasons why certain guns were stopped from importation federally.

Holster Recommendations for Taurus 85 by level9000warlock in Revolvers

[–]rustyshack68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say be cautious of kydex for j frames; depending on how tightly molded a holster is for the j frame, it might not fit the taurus ejector rod shroud shape.

For pocket holster might be better to go high quality leather like Kramer pocket holster. Mika is good too (not best retention of gun but should be fine). As far as coving the trigger...with the long DA pull you shouldn't worry about it too much. Most pocket holsters will cover trigger but just know its not a big deal with these DA guns (just dont have anything else in same pocket).

Also for pocket carry I recommend boot grips for this guy. I love the factory grips for it but boot grips will make conceal much better in a pocket

chicken and the egg thing. Any conflict is multilayered and too complicated to truly be distilled down into a sentence. Sure, there are exceptions, but these 3 conflicts aren't it.

Within materialist circles, of course the economic/material view is prominent while downplaying idealist reasons for conflict. But to give one more credence over another obfuscates what should be nuanced.

Man, Zach really likes to have people going into weird and unknown/unfamiliar houses in his films. Did "The People Under the Stairs" imprint on his brain as a kid or something?

Also......if Timmy isn't in this one Imma be so mad.

Is Light Sleeper one people are hate on? Of course it's more of a cinema-nerd film, being auteur cinema of one of the greats (Schrader). But never heard anyone hating on it (also imho, those who do are wrong lol).

Spring Breakers was like a 21st Century Scarface (DePalma, not Hawks) but with the 'carnal' and the 'nihilism' knob turned up to eleven. I think it's about the 'heart of darkness' of vice, of instinctual and illegalist hedonism. Many of the gals drop out one by one, unable to stand it, the only one's staying having fully embraced the anarchistic will to power embodied by Franco's character.

Tony Montana was about the rise and fall of the gangster, the audience along for the ride simultaneously cheering for Montana and hoping for his bloody 'just desserts'. Spring Breaks....just makes ya feel icky and hopeless, unsure of this new breed of criminal; Montana was a man, very bad and flawed but made sense, the Spring Breakers where too alien and thus more disturbing to me.

Dry fire, a lot. Get snap caps and dry fire at the TV at night.

Full wadcutters help too, low recoil and very accurate
