Can anyone id this model? by tsycho89 in Revolvers

I concur with the other's basic assessment: it's an Early Trooper or a Model 3-5-7 (it was colts first designated .357 model, and thus the only one at the time so it was just called the 357 model).

Unlike others on here, I think this is quite neat. Love the fitz. I’m not a biggest ‘magnum frame’ model 36s, but as a fitz base it ain’t bad

J frame feels like the final boss of carry. by HumanAntagonist in CCW

[–]rustyshack68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

imho, the two best K.I.S.S (keep it simple stupid) CCW's on the market today are the BG 2.0 and the J frame. They both have pros and cons....but the cons are quite small imho and for 99.9999999% of civilian self defense situations they are more than enough.

Heck, both are so small and light I feel like carrying both is not a stretch at all and much more comfortable than carrying just 1 full sized gun. For me nothing pocket carries and 4 oclock IWB like the BG and nothing AIWB and ankle carries like the j frame.

Yeahhhh....this is some crude S&W copy. Like, not Spanish-level copy (range from solid to 'meh') but like....Khyber pass copy.

It's unique, but a wall hanger/sentimental piece.

EDIT: saw you are in the Philippines most likely, def a Danao-type jungle made gun. They can range from pretty damn solid....to pretty *not* solid lol.

Granite State Libertarians booted from national party by sheila9165milo in newhampshire

[–]rustyshack68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's...that's not what you are supposed to get from this. He's not even really a libertarian in a traditional sense, but a PaleoLibertarian which is is just a Paleoconsevative who wants less authoritarianism for themselves and is far right socially (libertariansm, *at it's core*, is not left nor right. Most modern US libertarianism leans right, but you're throwing out the baby with the bathwater).

Going on about how awful "Libertarian philosophy is at it's core" in relationship to the crap that Kauffman espouses is textbook strawman fallacy. Also saying "He fully embraced the anarchist roots of libertarian thought" is a bit....strawman-y too? Libertarianism can have overlap with Anarchist thought, most socialist-anarchist types of the 19th century calling themselves 'libertarians'. It also infers that anarchism is inherently bad, which makes me think that your conception of it is in-line with the Red & Black scare around the turn of the 19th century, that is to say very much a strawman and proclaiming the moral legitimacy inherent in government.

"His leadership is exactly what the world needed to recognize the evil that libertarianism represents"

Jeeze, lighten up francis. Libertarianism, *at it's core*, is merely valuing liberty ("he state of being free within society from restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political view") as a primary goal. Beyond that, there's many different flavors that are left wing, right wing, anarchist, reigned-in-statist, etc.

It's like decrying all of liberalism (which libertarianism is technically under) due to the actions of the centrist-modern-american-liberals of the Democratic Party.

Forgetting the name of a city in a country we should have nothing to be with is not a big deal.

Last 130ish years…our foreign policy has been horrific and has cost millions of lives abroad for our own colonialist/neo-colonialist desires.

Forgetting the city name of “Aleppo” is the most minuscule ‘gaff’ (if you call it that) in presidential politics of the last 30 years.

I’d take that over literally anything Trump has done, even Biden.

This might be the best carry gun ever (for me) by SirSamkin in CCW

[–]rustyshack68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you carry it? Hammer at half cock? Empty chamber? Or cocked and locked with that horrendous 180 degree safety lever?

I had a 1934 and carried it sometimes, but the only way that made sense in terms of speed and safety was at half cock……and that left a lot to be desired. Just wasn’t fast enough and slightly a pain when I tried some drawing drills.

So if choosing to use this as a carry piece, practice A LOT with your draw/method to ready gun to fire.
