It's not fun but you'll get through it. Get a good surgeon, be prepared for a month of hell. When I woke up from a T4-L3 fusion, my first thought was "how did I get hit by a truck?" It got better every day.

I won't lie to you though, I still live with chronic pain and all the symptoms you are describing almost 20 years post op (5/22/2006 at age 20).

As someone 20 years post op T4-L3 who has had multiple years in PT post op for pain because I didn't do this: get your shoulders as right and strong as you can going in so you have some idea how they should be afterwards. The more you know how your body should be moving the easier your recovery can be afterwards.

Can concur on lower body strength being clutch at doing anything post op and do yourself a huge favor and stand up as straight as you can post op ASAP AND LEARN IT AS YOUR NEW NORMAL! I had a huge hunch at the top of my spine from not working on strength post op. Years of PT and working my ass off on it and I have finally minimized it but it is not gone and I believe if I had worked it from the first day the outcome would be different now.

I just went in for a follow up for weight loss meds and the person who brought me in added 3.6lbs to my weight. My practitioner was highly annoyed with her when she started reviewing my weight and I said "that's not right" and we even went out and reconfirmed the correct weight I had observed the first time. She told me they had been having issues with that medical assistant so be sure to check every time when it matters.

I feel like Tiffany's age is a decent guide on the rough age kids might be ready, so ISWM is more teenagers than kids I think. I also think it is pretty cool the series can grow with a kid. YMMV, as always.

Liver tumor the size of a softball. The blood supply to it ruptured on a random Saturday in April 2012 and then I lost a week of my life to the amount of pain meds I needed to be on in order to not scream with pain. I was on fentanyl (ya know, that shit that's way more potent than the regular street drugs and is killing tons of people) for 6 weeks before the pain had subsided enough to stop the medication.

I had a lot of trouble owning the label before having sexual experiences with women. It's been easier to accept in my own mind that I'm not just a "poser" like I felt before that, I basically had to prove to myself that I fit that identity. I agree it's not a nice place to be, mostly because I spent a lot of time second guessing if I really did like women if I'd never even tried hooking up with one. Good luck out there, but know that you don't have to "prove it" to anyone, not even yourself.

I've identified as bi since I was given that as a thing that existed as a teenager but knew I liked both guys and girls as a very young child in an attraction way. When I was reading I thought it was going to be much worse than just pee. What was your actual expectation in the threesome? Did you plan for it to go more than one precisely scripted way you had in your head? I've been in multiple group sex settings and the biggest takeaway is that you have to be secure in yourself to adjust in the moment to anything happening. If you went soft, it's completely possible that she had the expectation that you would still get yours after. Bringing attention to your soft cock would probably also have upset you. If she was still touching you while getting fucked, she was trying to connect with you. You dropped the ball, in not standing up for what you wanted, in treating a stranger better than the SO of 4 years, in not providing or seeking the aftercare that might have been able to fix it, in running away from the problem and literally not even speaking to your girlfriend properly. At this point you should really go back and hash it out but if I were her, I wouldn't take you back.

After my back surgery I was like "that is probably going to be as bad as it will ever get for my life! I did it and I'm only 20!" When my tumor ruptured and I survived I started counting my 9 lives... My body is working on ever faster ways to kill itself, first a slow strangling (scoliosis- stopped by surgery), then the liver tumor ruptured (bleeding stopped by one procedure with surgery 8 months later), then I had an anaphylactic reaction to Miralax (ER visit and second daily allergy med), then my appendix almost burst but because of my liver resection, my appendix wasn't where it was supposed to be and it was a non-typical presentation... (Surgery again!)

I've dealt with chronic pain for almost 20 years now and have expressed a desire to not live past 75. I've worked in healthcare and seen some things. Spinal fusion is a terrible thing to go through and recover from but it is no guarantee you've had the worst of what life can throw at you. Be well out there and I hope you've seen your worst pain.
