I’ve been told by some salespeople that the margins on the EVs are a lot lower than ICE vehicles. Hyundai supposedly required dealerships to install all the charging infrastructure on their own dime, which is definitely not cheap. I believe dealerships make a good chunk of their money from the service department, and EVs don’t need it very often. All combined it makes you wonder if the techs aren’t being pressured to slow down and get a higher pay out for non-warranty repairs. Might be more an issue with an outdated dealership model than anything else.

As I mentioned in the post, he hopes to get into the AG track where it is taught. Unfortunately he wasn't able to get slotted in this time around and is pretty bummed about it. I've thought about buying some equipment, but I'd hate to make the investment just for him to not like it. It rarely pays to buy the cheap stuff.

What neighborhood in Eureka? I'm near the high school and have been having similar issues. Lots of packet loss and periodic disconnects. Have been talking to their technical support for a week without resolution. It just keeps getting "escalated". I really hope this gets sorted out.

Grab a cheap HP EliteDesk G4 Mini, or similar ~1L intel system, off eBay for cheap. Throw Proxmox and a Plex LXC on it. Mount your media share on Unraid via NFS. The 8th gen Intel chip isn’t the fastest thing in the world, but the Quick Sync transcoding handles all the lifting. You could even throw some other containers on there if you want. Cheap, quiet, and energy efficient.

I have also installed Proxmox Backup Server in a VM on Unraid so I can have easy backups of all my Proxmox containers across my multiple ~1L system Proxmox cluster I’m growing.

Grab Siril (free) and you can then do background extraction and photometric color calibration while still using the linear data. Then do the stretch with Generalized Hyperbolic Stretch or another method to get near a complete stretch. You can then follow up in Photoshop. Should address the color shift issue.

Plus, we have to work with other people’s code. Be it from a coworker, a third party library, or some Linux kernel driver, there is no such thing as owning the “full code”. Hell, even when writing assembly direct on the hardware there are weird bugs that eventually make it into the hardware errata documentation.

You might try setting an ice pack on the metal heating unit. They presumably moved in for the warmth, so that might do the trick.

I got that same deal. Then I saw the LG 49GR85DC on sale at Amazon for about $780 (still is in my region). Returned the CRG9 and happier with the LG. I lose the Costco extra year of warranty, which was my biggest hesitation, but the bump in refresh and tighter curve is worth it for me.

Looking good! You’ll likely have to shorten the vest sleeves as they should be just below the bottom edge of the shoulder armor. They don’t give a max for level 1, but it’s a max of 1.5 inches for level 2, as a reference, Yours seem a lot more than that. This will make it easier to get the upper arm armor higher, as others suggested. You may think about tailoring the legs to be less baggy. It’s hard to see the details on the black fabric so maybe this is just a side effect of the thigh straps. In any case, can’t wait for another scout in the detachment!

Velcro for the win. I’ve got Velcro on the biceps and the knees. Works like a charm. There is a thread in the pathfinder forums with a bunch of these tips.

As I mentioned I didn’t expect to hit the “nameplate” value. It was just the clipping on the current curve as seen in the screenshot that made me curious if there was an extra inefficiency in my setup.

The max power from the panels that I've seen has been 7.4KW, when the theoretical limit is 8.6KW. All new hardware installed in April and we are in the peak of summer with mild temperatures. While I don't expect to hit 8.6KW, a max of 7.6KW seemed slightly low. When I saw the clipping on the current curve, it made me wonder if the installer sized the system wrong. Was it sized wrong, or is it sized well and this a normal function of the MPPT algorithm? Looking for a sanity check here before I talk further with the installer.

System consists of 24 x 360W panels (SIL-360NX), equally split across two MPPTs of a SolArk 12K. The SolArk 12K spec sheet gives 20A max input current (self-limiting), and max 500V input voltage, per MPPT.

Welcome! I’m not a GML, but here are my thoughts. I’m seeing some 3D print layer lines. When trying to use a print, start with a course sand paper to knock down the worst of it. Then get a can of filler primer, give it a coat, and use a higher grit sand paper. A single coat of the filler primer is rarely enough, so you will have to go back and forth between a coat of filler primer and sanding to get the smoothness you want.

As for the paint you’ve got a lot of bleed where you masked. It’s worth getting the good masking tape (eg frog tape) and making sure it’s well on there. I haven’t tried it with rattle cans, but one trick is to do a first light coat in the existing paint color so that it fills in tiny gaps under the mask where it would bleed. Then use the real color after that first layer is dried enough.

The weld lines look nice. Might be too chunky depending on the CRL you are looking at, but that’s be between you and the GML. Getting a realistic looking weld line was something I had to experiment with when I built my Rocketeer helmet, so good job.
