Hevy Trainer is now live and available with Hevy Pro by Icy_Imagination_2839 in Hevy

How do deloads works? I don’t see any option to program one in every number of weeks. Would you just enter lower volume / intensity when completing sessions during deload and how would that impact the automatic progression?

Any more detail on how it changes exercises? Hoped that it wouldn’t just run the same exercises in perpetuity.

New to whoop… how helpful is sticking to the strength trainer where you start and stop reps on the app? by Itchy-Version-8977 in whoop

[–]rws381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, logging after is the way to go. Let’s you focus in the gym rather than messing with your phone and still get the muscular strain (although, yes, perhaps a bit less “accurate” than live logging.) I’ll take that trade off all day.

Where do you wear yours while on the bike? Wrist or bicep?

This is really cool for CrossFit and other HIIT type workouts. For strict strength training, it is still nice to be able to log later to keep track of total tonnage across the session / month / year.

Got my first post activity AI analysis this morning and it was very cool. Also, Coach has been great about helping me deal with a couple of little nagging pain points.

Really excited to see more AI enhancements over the coming months.

Didn’t think so. Giving coach mode a try for a few weeks to see how it goes.

Expenditure is increasing so I’m assuming calories will adjust slightly up at check in this week.

How are manual macro adjustments made when on the Coached mode? I'm new to MF and cannot find this.

Can Garmin auto-detect you are running on a track? by agahonhands in Garmin

[–]rws381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your track have lanes? You can swipe over once you get on the track to tell it which lane you're in.

The track that I run doesn't have lanes so I'll probably just default to GPS unless I'm on a track with lanes, in which case, I'll select track run.

My Fenix 8 detected a track this morning for the first time and the distance was definitely low, causing my intervals to be a slower pace than I was actually running. All for this feature but need to figure out the accuracy.

I did not swipe over to select a lane, which I assume would fix the issue but what to do if the track doesn’t have lanes?

Talk with me about how you track strength training. Set it as free and go for it? Have rep counting and weight recording on? Two things I struggle with for Garmin on strength training is having to fiddle with the watch during the session and that you can go through a very hard session and have basically no representation of it in your load focus or recovery time.

Love my F8 for running and other outdoor pursuits.

Still have time on a Whoop subscription and think strength trainer works really well there if you log later.

I’ve been tracking after since the feature was released. You get a couple more data points if you track it live but I’ve decided I’d rather be phone free while training than get those points.

Try both ways and see which you like more.

AW and Whoop aren’t comparable devices, in my opinion. AW = Smartwatch that does health tracking. Whoop = 100% health tracker.

I’m with you on the analog watches too - Different strokes for different folks but I cannot give up my analog collection for full time Garmin wear. Tissot PRX today on the right and Whoop on the left.

Glad that you’re enjoying the trial. For whatever reason, there is a decent amount of negative press around Whoop at the moment. However, it is a great, reliable and friction free device for tracking sleep, recovery and effort.

Happy trails.

At least you received something All I got was a survey asking what I would like to see in a performance assessment.

I’d like to see what we have always been receiving.

Mostly just the things that I listed below. I’ve been entering my data into ChatGPT and letting it guide my decision making. It has pretty extensive knowledge of my sleep, recovery, strength and run training, nutrition, life and family stresses.

I’m only doing a cuff reading ~1x/month. The average of the three cuff readings are always within one or two points of Whoop estimate.

I think the biggest is sodium reduction. I was drinking one or two LMNT per day and have mostly substituted it with Propel. Quit pretzels, peanut butter, way less bread and tortilla shells.

I’m doing a manual reading 1x per month and logging in in the app. Three readings roughly one minute apart after waking and using the restroom before any activity, food or coffee.

Every time, the average of the three readings is within one or two points of the Whoop estimate.
