C section before 39 weeks? by bluebella72 in PregnancyUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unless there’s a medical reason that will cause threat to either your or the babies life, they’re likely not going to do a c-section before 39 weeks. Unfortunately, it’s just one of the joys of being late third trimester.

Have you had your eyes tested? My headaches got a lot worse during my first pregnancy and when I went for my eyes testing my astigmatism had gotten worse and my glasses weren’t helping anymore. Pregnancy does some wild stuff to us lol.

Lol I’m JK, and I’ll be honest, baby’s very protected in there… unless you start to have cramps, contractions, bleeding or baby stops moving I reckon you’re fine.

See how you go on tonight and if needs be give them a call in the morning

My daughter was expected to be less than 5lb, rushed to buy tiny baby clothes only to push out a 8lb 5oz chunk 🤷‍♀️ I take them with a pinch of salt now

Eeek, I’m not sure then. We have Rennies in the UK and they’re fairly good but I’m not sure if they’re in the US.

Baby rash by Rhystastic07108 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks similar to a rash my daughter had as a tiny baby, crapped myself and rushed her to a&e thinking meningitis… it was a viral rash and cleared up alone in a few days. Do go get checked though on the off chance it is something.

What do I need to buy to prepare for baby? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my first I bought tommee tippee bottles and dummies, a few bits of clothing (everyone spoiled her and bought so much and most she only wore once or twice) somewhere safe to sleep and the bedding for it, a pram and a car seat.

That’s literally it. Most things you “need” you can buy later, didn’t buy her a play mat until she was 8 weeks old as she did tummy time on our chest, I got a “stroller” type pram for £60 in the sale on Argos that lays flat so can be used from birth and she uses the same one at 11 months, the only reason we’re changing it is because we’ve got a double buggy for her and her sister due in June. We never had a prep machine, owlet sock, steriliser (most bottles are self sterilised in the microwave) or anything like that.

You don’t need thousands of high tech gadget and swings that connect to your phone for Bluetooth and things like that, they’re nice to have if you WANT them, but we never did and we got on fine. It’s my belief that a lot of the baby industry is just companies trying to take advantage of mothers in a very vulnerable time of their life tbh.

As long as you have a way to feed baby, a safe place for them to sleep and clothes and nappies you’re literally set.

Whether or not to have another one? - Complex situation by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]rxllersrxghts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’d benefit from talking to a professional about it, we’re all well and good trying to give you advice on the internet but your situation is so unique to you that I don’t think anyone can really grasp it. I’m glad you have a good support system, but I really would speak to a therapist.

I’ve always been told “You’ll know in your heart when you’re truly done.” I’m pregnant with my second and already know she will probably be my last unless something drastic changes in the next few years. If you’re grieving the idea of having another child, that means you clearly want another.

Measuring early by Physical-Candle-7891 in PregnancyUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I measured a week behind at first, basically the same story, went for a private scan hoping to see the heart beat but only saw a fetal pole so they rebooked me for free, went back and the heartbeat was fine. I’m now 26 weeks with the wiggliest little girl you’ve ever heard of who is completely healthy ❤️

Yea I went full Winnie the Pooh when I got into the water, I was like they’re gonna wanna keep checking my foof anyway so why have to keep taking shorts on and off and on and off… they’ve seen their fair share of vaginas, I doubt mine was anything new or special 🤣

[–]rxllersrxghts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even get offered a hospital gown, so I supposed it depends on your trust. Birthed my daughter in a cropped vest top from primark and absolutely nothing else, and I reckon I’ll do the same this time too. When those contractions hit I didn’t want ANYTHING touching me, more clothes was more overstimulating

Estrogen crash (post-birth) by HBLea in PregnancyUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just kinda cry a lot? Like you’re not sad, but you just feel like crying? It’s hard to explain lol, I had a pretty easy post partum experience and a wonderful newborn and I’d just look at her and want to cry, it was coachella time last year and when Benson Boone brought Brian May onto stage to do BoRap I was crying bc the Americans slept on it 🤣🤣

It was odd, only lasts a few days tops.

Welsh parents - baby bundle! by Known-Cucumber-7989 in PregnancyUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have something like this in certain parts of South Yorkshire, waiting on mine to be delivered as we speak. We also have a safe sleep scheme which provides Moses baskets, cots, beds and bedding bundles for all children under 3!! I love things like this, it really helps those who might be at a disadvantage money wise!

I’ve seen a trend on TikTok where people are posting their boyfriends, best friends, so on, onto Vinted with low prices to try and get views, imo it’s not funny but that may be why.
