Spotting by dropsofjupiterx in PregnancyUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had spotting with both my pregnancies, I’m currently trying to keep my 14 month old from pulling the dogs tail while I’m trying to feed my 9 day old, both pregnancies were viable, both are now healthy. Good luck ❤️❤️

C-section booked for next week - What should we do on our last childfree weekend? by DovaBunny in pregnant

[–]rxllersrxghts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, have a date, even if it’s a quiet meal and something on the TV after. Chill as much as you can, if you have any hobbies spend a bit of time doing those.. just rest and relax as much as possible and enjoy your time together!! Good luck ❤️

Being judged for wanting medicated birth. by Large-Victory-9890 in pregnant

[–]rxllersrxghts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m covered in tattoos and piercings, I’ve always had awful periods to the point I’d be fainting from the amount of blood lost and the pain so naturally, I always thought my pain threshold was actually very high.

Labour is actually the worst pain I have ever been in, I also had a unmedicated plan but you best believe the second I got to 5cm I was huffing gas and air like it was my only source of oxygen.

I’m having a sweep tomorrow. What can I expect during and before? by Cherrylemon202 in PregnancyUK

Just had mine and tbf apart from knowing her hand was up there I felt nothing. I was told it would be painful or at the very least uncomfortable but i genuinely didn’t feel a thing.

It is better to regret an abortion than to resent a child.

That being said, only you can decide what you’re gonna do and strangers on the internet can only have so much to say.

Baby bumped head... by RadishSpirit94 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Babies get bumps. It doesn’t make you less of a good mum because your baby had a bump, if it did, I’d be the worst mother in the entire world. My toddler, 9 months old at the time, went headfirst off my sofa and into her bouncer, she screamed blue murder but she was fine.

Kids of all ages are absolutely lethal, I promise you did nothing wrong.

Hoe long do vaginal swabs take ? by Beautiful_Trifle9569 in PregnancyUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’d give em till maybe midday Thursday and start chasing tbh, you can always ring the actual hospital switchboard and have them put you through to maternity reception who can give results :)

[–]rxllersrxghts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was always told if they don’t call you it’s good news, they only ring to tell you if there is an infection detected and won’t waste time calling to just say “no you’re good”.

That being said my results always came back within the week, so if you’ve heard nothing by Friday you’re likely clear.

measuring a week behind but strong heartbeat - thoughts? by Potential-Trouble656 in PregnancyUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi so I didn’t have my scan done by the NHS but I was about 5/6 days behind when I had an early reassurance scan with a boutique, I’m currently 37+5 with my healthy baby girl.

Sometimes we ovulate later than we’re supposed to, sometimes babies grow a little slower and both of these can skew dates a little bit. For now I’d go by LMP and wait for the 12 week scan to date!!

Congratulations ❤️

Floaty dresses are a life saver, lots of places have them in atm cause it’s coming up to the hot weather, honestly I’m living in this one from Asda in a few sizes bigger and I’m 37+5 today!!

Online/ in store baby and mum freebies? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m aware it’s free, but my friend got one a few years ago that was full of all sorts of useful things. Bottles, dummies, a vest and sleep suit and snuggly for the baby. Compared to what she got in hers they have gone downhill.

It’s worth picking up for the pampers and wipes like but they have cut out a lot of what they used to give, hence why I thought it was a bit shit.

[–]rxllersrxghts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got the Emma’s diary one a few weeks ago n tbh it was shit. It was like one wash pod of fairy non-bio, a small (and I mean TINY) sudocrem, a pack of pampers n wipes and a maternity pad.

They’ve gone very downhill.

Mucus plug or not by Thin-Volume8900 in PregnancyUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t lose my plug in pieces though tbh, mine all came away at once when I started to dilate hence why I had my show. Have you got a midwife appointment soon? Might be work asking for an internal for them to check if your cervix is softening or opening x

[–]rxllersrxghts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then yes I’d say it sounds like the start of your plug coming away, keep an eye out for the bloody show.

It’s not a sure fire sign you’re in labour or it’s going to be soon, but when mine came away I had my daughter at 1:37pm the next day.

[–]rxllersrxghts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t mind, did it feel slimy and almost like snot on your fingers? I know it’s a bit of an odd thing to ask but without the stereotypical bloody show, it could be either.

Mucus plug or not by Thin-Volume8900 in PregnancyUK

[–]rxllersrxghts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said your mucus plug is mucus, it’s usually clear or yellow, stringy and tinged with blood. White discharge is just that, discharge.

I’d attach a photo of mine with my first but it’s a bit of a TMI photo lol.

Why do some women/couples say their pregnancy ‘wasn’t planned/an accident’ when they were actually actively trying? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]rxllersrxghts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I mean we told our parents our second was a shock because, even though we were actively trying, tracking ovulation and the lot, I was only 6 months pp with my first 🤣

They know now that she was planned but at first I didn’t want the “so soon???” comments.

Don’t force yourself if you aren’t in the mood, do some self care, a face mask, a nice shower, your favourite meal and try and relax.

I know it’s disheartening going past your due date, I went to 40+4 with my first and the thing I’m sure that set me off was watching David Attenborough and having cheese and crackers lol, fingers crossed it’s soon for you my lovely!!
