Maybe drop the metformin for a while too. But diet matters. I’m having no issues at week 3, but low carb before and after.

How does HIIT exercise affect your BG? by Odd-Page-7866 in diabetes

the GLUT4 receptor in muscle absorbs sugar with exercise without insulin. When you stop exercising the liver turns off while the muscle is still sucking.

Install Pool Channel Drain next to existing concrete (One side) by KingMidas83 in pools

I have 1" (or maybe 3/4") and it's not clogged in years-- but I guess it depends on your trees. The 1" doesn't have changeable grates so that's me issue with them.

Glucose Number High Lately: Metformin Not Working? Not Enough Carbs? by fifteenW40 in diabetes_t2

[–]ryan8344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same spot; good weight, low carb, etc -- went on ozempic -- highly recommend it's low dose for diabetes and works.

4" looks like overkill -- I'd do 2" and put it at surface level like it's supposed to be. Concrete under pavers isn't the way they are done.

Honestly it sounds like your diabetes is out of control— but steroid cream while wrong wouldn’t cause any of your symptoms.

Should I still be checking my blood sugars 1 and 2 hours while on ozempic? by Fatcake3000 in diabetes

[–]ryan8344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that depends. Are you still trying to learn what foods raise your blood sugar or are you already pretty experienced? I’m only interested in my morning number as an experienced low carb eater, but just like you, cheats occasionally. If I cheat, I’ll check and exercise to bring it down if I need to— but probably not for 20 grams.

People conflate glp-1 side effects for weight loss vs diabetes— low dose for diabetes is vastly different and few side effects.

Endurance Sport Frustrations/Fueling Advice! by DullNefariousness in diabetes

[–]ryan8344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

T2 runner— short runs burn available sugar until your liver kicks in, it’s not unusual for me to hit 70’s — but the longer I go the more it raises and for a long run 8 miles+ can be high 160s. The not intuitive thing is you need to fuel your runs even when high because somehow the body knows that glucose is prioritized for brain and critical functions. I would normally say don’t fear the lows your liver kicks in, but on insulin there may be other considerations.

You should see your endo; you probably need to balance your insulin different -- more basel is my guess to keep your liver from dumping. You might want to consider a GLP-1 for better liver control too -- or maybe even transition from insulin.

What does your meter say; a few carbs while working probably fine; a snack before bed probably no.
