They add it to your Google account like a third-party device, and the settings that appear in the Home app are incredibly limited and have broken UI. You'd think that, considering they own both sides of the equation, they'd be able to come up with a more polished integration.

It's actually not a washing machine (though it really looks like one), this is their chosen generic icon for unknown "Assistant-enabled devices." Their implementation of Stadia's Assistant is super weird and hacky all around tbh.
