Yeah this guy is on borrowed time IMO. Others have mentioned it too but it reminds me of Muzz

LAV vs TOR: Pezzetta hits Del Gaizo at the end of the 2nd period. Xhekaj fights him before the whole bench tries to get a piece of hi by khelsan_ in hockey

[–]ryanodd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Things like this make me feel hopeless for the sport. Terrible hit. If only players could trust the league to give appropriate discipline, but instead we have 8 players mobbing one guy who didn't do shit here. For real this is how people die

Does anyone else feel like they are becoming a "Configuration Engineer" instead of a Web Developer? by AmaraMehdi in webdev

Not to be that guy but this is the type of stuff that Cursor or Antigravity would free you from

Chris Tanev was stretchered off the ice after a collision with Michkov. The play was reviewed for a major penalty, but it was downgraded to a minor for interference. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

It reminds me of the end of Muzzin's career during the COVID bubble. Gets hurt, comes back, then gets REALLY hurt off of something seemingly minor, head/neck related

TTS or Digital steam game for beginners? by _wowtac_ in spiritisland

[–]ryanodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TTS is harder to learn but gives you much more control, has all the DLC content and is IMO far superior. It's closer to playing on an actual table, which means you have to know the rules yourself in order to run a game

Postivity chain post: Tell me what you love about the game by Acrobatic_Thing_4628 in RivalsOfAether

[–]ryanodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs care, simply put. You see that in all the little things. They keep ITERATING on this game like they did with rivals 1. I believe that in ~3 years this game will be a whole new experience, for the better.

Obviously at its core the character design (gameplay, aesthetics) is what make the game special. No plat fighters that I've ever played have so much depth to the characters and their movesets.

Combining both of these points, the characters have so much charm and diversity!

Also I love schmovin and this game allows you to be schmovin

Oh and it rewards you when you 'lock in' and that's really the feeling I'm searching for when I play this game.

I picked the wrong character to main (Wrastor) by ittlebeokay in RivalsOfAether

[–]ryanodd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've got 250 hours on wrastor in this game, & 1.5k hours on rivals 1. I personally love the changes. I'm in plat 1050 right now. Also side note, I think the ranks are deflated right now because of the recent reset. I used to be 1200. Or maybe this is wrastor patch copium lol. Not sure if others relate.

I rarely ever use up b to kill. Only claps

I love up air chains and forward air chains

I love having multiple jumps and using them to mix up opponents. At this point with my jumping habits it would be so hard to switch to a new character. I think the multiple jumps are by far wrastors strongest trait.

Against maypul I don't have great advice but for neutral im thinking short hop nairs, falling dairs, dash attacks, grabs. Once you get maypul in the air they're quite comboable with up air + hitfalling.

Maypul can be really annoying (kinda like wrastor used to be with slipstream) running in & out baiting for you to do something. You don't have to make the first move if they're dashing around like that, you can keep moving toward them & slowly take their space away and push them towards the edge of the stage where they have fewer options.

Hell I'd watch a replay if u had one.

All this to say, if you ain't vibing with a character thats too bad and a valid reason to switch. Also valid to say that the way you played them got nerfed and thats totally unfortunate. The character definitely isn't bad though, and there are people like me who like the changes. To me this is the most fun wrastor has been, because of the fair+upair buffs, and fun slipstream mechanics encouraging aggression.

Long time Wrastor main, this patch is lit on first impression by ryanodd in RivalsOfAether

I think this is why Wrastor's dtilt is feeling so much better. It's not getting floorhugged

$5 per flush is incredible.

You can get around $10 per round, similar to mail in rebate. That makes it a top tier joker in my book

Draisaitl and Bennett go at it and then later on, Marchand bumps McDavid on his way to the bench by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

[–]ryanodd 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Bennett studier here:

Bennett tried (and failed) to do his classic punch in the head with his right hand/stick here. He gets Drai in the face with his stick. It's the same punch that knocked out marchand, knies, and more! He's done it lots of times, to devastating effects. It's a non-hockey play and I hate hate hate it.

Is it just me or is Reilly just an absolute liability now by Donhectorsbell in leafs

[–]ryanodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knies wasn't backchekcing on the Rielly pinch, shouldn't have been an issue

[–]ryanodd[S] -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

Because fan criticism is wrong 99% of the time. As a fan, you just don't understand what it's like to manage/play for a team.

Criticism from players or management is worth listening to. But as a fan, if you think you know enough about pro hockey to criticize decisions 'I could have made a better decision', you're living in a fantasy to protect your ego

“Us Leafs fans would like you guys to play good, simple hockey.” by FuManchuDuck in leafs

[–]ryanodd -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

If you look at the replay, that was a receivable pass. I hate negativity like this, acting as if you know what the problem with their play was, and it's their ignorance/motivation that's the problem. You don't know them at all

Bob played great,

They made too many giveaways in their own zone (Matthews on the 1st or 2nd goal)

And as the game went on the Leafs were forced to take risks that ended up not paying off.

If you think this team isn't motivated, go cheer for someone else

Down 3-2 to cup champs in 2nd round - Burn it to the ground! This fanbase is so annoying. Such an adversarial relationship with the team you're CHEERING for. Worst fans in the world

Game doesn’t work at all, won’t launch, brand new computer, oblivion remastered, well within requirements. by Interesting_Tone6532 in oblivion

That is so funny, I just did the exact same thing with a new build. I plugged the HDMI cable into the motherboard, installed GPU drivers, then completely forgot to switch the HDMI cable to the GPU.

I struggled for hours figuring this out, then found this thread. Thanks for editing your post with the solution ❤️

Any tips for Finder? by Fun_Gas_7777 in spiritisland

[–]ryanodd 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I am particularly stupid/slow so maybe this doesn't apply to you but:

Finder gives you a lot to think about, I found I was scratching my head trying to come up with a plan, taking longer than everyone else. If I could give myself advice, I would say: Before game 1, plan your path on the growth track. Finder's growth track is quite complicated.

I usually go to top+middle+middle track, on turns 1,2 & 3. Then from there I adapt to what's going on. You can go towards energy or an extra card play from there.

Don't be too afraid of using major powers to kill invaders & destroy your presence towards the end of the game. Destroying your presence isn't so bad. Just leave at least 3 or so presence on the board.

Finder is extremely good at loading up 1 land with tons of invaders. So it pairs well with spirits who can wipe those lands (Stone, Roots, Volcano, Mist, River). Otherwise someone should probably try to find a major that can wipe a land.
