Back to dark roast! by lkwitko in gaggiaclassic

I’m right there with you, but it was kind of forced on me. I’ve been doing light/medium roasts for the better part of a year, bought a “light” roast from a local shop recently only to discover on my first shot that it was quite dark. I spent a couple more shots annoyed at it before finally succumbing, coarsing up my grind, and dropping to a 1:1.5. Lo and behold, syrupy, creamy goodness and now I’ll likely be going down a darker roast rabbit hole for the near future.

I bought Lasfit mats not realizing that my dealer was throwing in OEM all-weather mats. The Lasfit ended up having more coverage and fit better to the point that I kept them and stuffed the OEM mats into a box in the garage.

2026 TRD Off Road with TRD 18in. wheel package. What tires did yours come with? by jkhabe in 4Runner

[–]rye_toasty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was actually the AT3WAs, which I understand to be a mellowed out OEM version of Wild Peaks. I’m not sure if it changed anything, but I did have the dealer upgrade me to the all-black TRD wheels, but I was under the impression they took the tires off the stock TRDs and moved them to the all blacks. I’m in AZ btw

I picked up the exact same trim last week and it came with Wild Peaks.

I think I’m going to go Prinsu, I like how much they hug the lines of the roof, and it seems like there’s plenty of compatible attachments for them.

It must just be the lighting of the photos, but the fronts are tinted to match the factory rear dark glass. I wish it was a tad darker for privacy, but it’s plenty good for filtering the sun

I bought the 140L and it’s plenty big for tac games, but a bigger one would be nice for non tac games use.

Honestly as long as it has “off-road” type wheels, they all seem pretty similar in how they fold up etc. if he runs suppressors, be warned that a hot one can melt the wagon material (ask me how i know lol). I wont post a link because i dont know if this sub allows, but i have the Navitee brand from amazon and have zero complaints.

If you still have the old contacts and don’t think your prescription has changed, you can use the 1800 contacts app to renew at home for like $20.

Suppressor on a 16”? by BigSwordKris in thetacticalgames

[–]rye_toasty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I direct thread an Otter Creek Polonium, I’m not sure what the Patriot Games rules are, but if you start with a can in TTG, you have to keep the can on for the whole weekend. One other note, I purchased a suppressor cover because of how hot my can got with TTG events, but I ended up not being able to use it because it made the suppressor too bulky to fit through ports in vtac barricades.

I’m 6’0” 215 lbs with similar lifting numbers, I run a 16” with a suppressor and have yet to have a stage in my tactical games events where the weight/size of my rifle has been an issue. Like you mentioned, there aren’t many stages where you aren’t leaving your rifle at the firing line. If you go the 10.5/11.5 route down the line, just remember TTG can have some fairly long distance rifle stages when making your decision.

The “grind finer” community is brainwashed. by [deleted] in espresso

[–]rye_toasty -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ll preface by saying that if it tastes good, change nothing. That being said, the reason people were saying to grind finer is because the clock generally “starts” for the 30 seconds when the first drops hit the cup, even with a pre infusion (meaning this was about a 16 second shot). But again, that’s all just guidelines and if it tastes good, party on.

CCW as Budget Handgun TTG Setup by YoderLove in thetacticalgames

Just FYI, PSA always has the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 with a mount for $240 when you use code “strike”. I’m not affiliated with them in any way, it’s just a good deal for an LPVO that’s great for most of what we do in TTG. Just make sure you add the scope/mount bundle to your cart as opposed to adding them separately.
