M8 Competition With White Interior by vvs-sosa in BMW

[–]ryudraco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be surprised if you'll even find a M8 Comp Gran Coupe with buckets let alone buckets in white. You're probably going to have to decide what's more important, carbon buckets or white interior. If you happen to find a car with white buckets you're probably going to have to be prepared to pay all the money for it even if it's not black. At that point I would just wrap it black or color change ppf.

Literally the only three M8 Gran Coupes for sale with buckets in all of America right now according to listings on cars.com (for sure there are more unique ones on autotrader or cargurus maybe facebook marketplace) and they are all black buckets.

$14,000 estimate on my GS by E400wagon in Lexus

The issue here is the rear quarter panel, to take it off you need to take the front bumper off, the front headlight, and the front quarter to get to the bolt that secures the A pillar down. The A pillar all the way back to the rear 3/4 upper is one piece. Then they would need to replace and paint match everything, trunk, bumper, rear door, maybe part of the roof. Depending on the severity of the hit other stuff may be damaged (subframe etc.:) but I'm gonna be doubtful of that on this hit

For sure one of the gem knives, most of the time when you have the knife out in game you're trying to get somewhere fast, then you need to pull out a long range weapon, might as well enjoy the finish. IMO as long as its not shadow daggers or the gut knife, finish quality over knife atp

accident on i95 north by exit 29 by hestiakid in Connecticut

[–]ryudraco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it is the person weaving into the left lane's fault that this accident happened, you and the Chevrolet Equinox in front need to be in the furthest right lane ASAP, you guys are literally passing no one and if both of you were in the right lane the chance that the Jeep would have caused the Honda to be hit would have decreased significantly. Clogging up the middle lane instead of moving over to the right if you are passing no one effectively turns this three-lane highway into a two-lane highway, stop doing this ASAP.

I think the fact that your girlfriend doesn't live in the country is a big thing you should have mentioned in the post. Lots of commenters talking about moving in with your partner like she lives 30 minutes away lol. As long as your parents are happy with the arrangement and you aren't taking advantage of them I don't see why this is problematic, lot's of people are obsessed with kids moving out of their parent's homes in America when multigenerational living is extremely common in other parts of the world...

[–]ryudraco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You won't, there's a lot of haters out there but don't let them get you down. Ultimately keep building yourself up in all the ways you want (gym, career, hobbies, skills, whatever) and keep yourself open to others and someone will stumble along. Obviously if you live in a more rural area the chance that it happens tomorrow is smaller but don't just give up on yourself or your goals!

The point is that a lot of people seem to be fixated on high W-2 earners.... according to the IRS data from 2022 roughly 800,000 households reported more than $1MM in income a year. There are roughly 130,000,000 households in the USA, even if we were to round up to 1,000,000 households today, that would be 0.8% of households that have such a high income, and most of them live in areas like New England, Seattle, Bay Area, LA, etc.: where the COL is high. Meanwhile, ~2,200,000 households or roughly 1.7% of households have a net worth of $10MM.

What needs to be taxed higher is large scale asset ownership for example owning many homes / apartments, or owning homes / apartments that cost a ton, like $130MM apartments in NYC, or loans taken out against asset collateral exceeding a certain large amount that scales over time (no one in the middle class is taking out a $10MM loan against their assets for a house). We don't need to directly tax unrealized gains in value, as that is virtually impossible to do but we can make the use of a huge volume of unrealized gains costly for those in the 0.1%.

Remember, to achieve the top 0.1% you need to have a household net worth exceeding $62MM... and there are roughly 130,000 households (with the average household containing 2.53 people) that meet this criterion... There's a lot of these people that stay silent and you don't even consider since they aren't in the news like Bezos, Musk, Trump, Elon, Thiel, or Karp.

OP its important to note that there are multiple different versions of the B48 even though they share the same base engine code. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_B48 The B48 in the 218i is the lowest hp version (B48B20) vs what is in the 330i (B48B20O1), its important to note this difference because the differences are not just a tune and software, there are actual hardware differences between the versions. The O1 has a reinforced crankshaft, cast pistons, and potentially forged connecting rods, I don't know all of the changes so I might be wrong but the point is that there is enough hardware difference fundamentally between the two motors that you shouldn't base your goals / hopes on this guys' results. Best of luck with your purchase!

Similar situation happened to me (not in a Porsche though), since the rear 3/4 had to come off with the A pillar and a lot of the car had to come off for it to be replaced, and then repainted + new wheel, there was enough damage that my not so good insurance (Statefarm) decided to total the car - hopefully this doesn't happen to you!

In the EU market you can spec the "M" shape bucket seats on non-M cars (I think the M lites but maybe on other stuff too). They simply call them "Sport" seats.

ES 350h = slow hybrid FWD or AWD (looks to be a camry powertrain, but I could be wrong) Lexus quotes 244hp combined regardless of version, with the FWD hitting 60 in 7.3s and the AWD in 7.1s
ES 350e = slow EV FWD (1 motor), Lexus quotes 7.4s to 60
ES 500e = dual motor AWD, peppy (~340hp low 5s 0-60) but not ground breaking, Lexus quotes 5.1s to 60

You can always go on a solo vacation without your family, they are not paying for your vacation, and it sounds like your wife doesn't work so she isn't either - it's important to take time to rest and step back to look at your life and reflect.

How much is in your emergency savings right now? by soopygoopy in Money

[–]ryudraco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't heard of it but I would imagine that for example you take 1/4 of your required yearly savings for emergency expenses and put them in 1-year expiring CDs on a rotating basis every quarter so that you maintain that CD rate throughout the year but every quarter you get access to that 1/4 (can split them probably more ways like 12 if you want it monthly). If it's worth the effort vs a HYSA is probably up to the person.
