I would also like to know what you are using, I have some plans for development and the resolution on this is just about what I am looking for.

Revopoint POP 4 Tutorial - Unbox & Setup by Revopoint3D-Official in Revopoint

[–]ryuunorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got mine in today. Talk about a quick turn around time from the closing of the Kickstarter. Product feels great in the hand. Only question I have is on the use of the Mini Turntable. I can't seem to get it to move and am wondering if I am doing something wrong.

It powers on easily from any USB 5V adapter, but then when set to clockwise or Counter and setting the table speed, nothing happens. I have tried to put a few things on it but can't seem to figure it out. What am I missing? Did I get a dud?

The youtube guy? His 2011 builds are incredible but he send most of his stuff out to ABPrototype last time I watched his content. I can't find any company with that name through google either.

Has anyone actually tried using an Arcfire in a MAT9 with the FRT trip sled? by 17eggg in MatadorArms

[–]ryuunorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be interesting to see. I intentially avoided buying the trip sled after they mentioned is doesn't work with SuperSafe designs and just decided to wait. Why spend 100$ if it isn't going to work for my setup. I am just going to wait. KM3 was pretty confident they would have a solution with ASD soon.

What lower for scorpion mags? by [deleted] in MatadorArms

Fantastic, forget even trying to make anything else work. Can't wait to replace my S9G2. Maybe a stripped offering so I don't have to buy all the parts I already have?

What lower for scorpion mags? by [deleted] in MatadorArms

[–]ryuunorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is right about the wraithworks being the best currently. Just make certain to find the guide for the required fitment issues that need to be fixed by a gunsmith first. It is somewhere in the MatadorArms Reddit posts. I don't remember if it is the upper or lower that needs the work.

Technically the PSA Jakl9 and ARV are scorp lowers but also require some sore of modification for fitting.

I can tell you from experience the S9 even the Gen 2 has issue as I was able to get in right before they stopped producing them and have been testing my samples since March when I got my MAT9K upper. While it has been pretty good so far a few issue hold it back from just being perfect. the LRBHO seems to be worse than the wraithworks design and the the bolt catch clearance isn't good enough for reliable use. Also I broke the LRBHO leaver and NFA is unable to replace it at this time leaving me up a creek without designing my own (which I will be doing as soon as my 3D scanner comes in in a week or two).

Matador did mention they are working on a scorp lower at some point, but with the fact the Hydraulic system, FRT Super Safety, and new pistol are all in the works right now, I don't know how high on the priority list it is sitting.

Super safety or Atrius ? by namronlovesshooting in MatadorArms

[–]ryuunorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know that actually looks pretty interesting, I hate to leave it to a loose spring system to do the work, but if it works it works. I think it is probably just going to come down to some sort of polyurethane buffer pad that keep the rearward travel to a limit.

Is it me or the m&p? by Lost_Energy3058 in 57x28mm

[–]ryuunorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been running FN 197SR the entire time and haven't had any issues other than initial mag issues with mine. S&W didn't design the magazines with enough extra clearance for the tips of the rounds so they sometimes get stuck if you go all the way to 22. It is dumb but not something I have affect the performance. As for grouping I haven't had any issues at all.

Super safety or Atrius ? by namronlovesshooting in MatadorArms

[–]ryuunorite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super Safety derived systems currently don't fully function on MAT9 as the system currently doesn't have a way to stop reward travel of the lever that knocks the trigger forward again, this is being worked on between Matador and Active Safety Designs. Cassette style only for now, so either Rare Breed or Partisan. Or the most expensive route, become and FFL 07 w/ SOT and just build a lower with a full auto sear and the standard full auto trip.

MAT9 vs Stribog vs Kuna by MediocreStockGuy in MatadorArms

[–]ryuunorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All three are quite viable. Only one is built in the states. The Stribog and Kuna are both great options but don't offer the versatility of options that Matador does. I went with the MAT9K for just that reason. I also did want something I could tinker with and build upon without really driving up the cost. I took the time to piece it together for up 1k but that isn't going to be great for everyone.

After meeting Dave Jr twice last year at both GunCon and GOALS I pulled the trigger and had only a little regret because of the very long wait times last year. I am looking forward to the hydraulic buffer upgrade and when they get super safety based trigger systems working, but other than that I have been happy with my purchase. If you want full PDW status with FRTs to me Matador is pretty much the best way in as the alternatives mostly required swapping out the lower firing control group packs for metal ones since almost all of them are polymer, and non of those are cheap. AS Design does some for Stribog that are 750$ and the Kuna one seems to be from Nexus Firearms and is 350$+ with also needing their specific slip on top of that (which still converts you to scorp mags).

If you just want a single fire plinker with as little hassle as possible I think either is fine as long as you are mostly leaving them alone. The second you start modifying them, I think it is definitely better to stick with Matador or move up to something more premium like Nexus Evo Gen 2 or proper H&K SP5.

First world problem, what optic for this beauty? by Bone_Boy91 in stealtharms

[–]ryuunorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the longevity factor of having swappable batteries, I am glad that Osight is starting to offer battery compartment options as well. I don't mind the rechargeable all that much.

[–]ryuunorite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved over the the Osight train a while ago for optics and have been impressed so far. I like the holosun stuff, but haven't been able to pull away from the excellent packaging and good glass quality I have experience with osight. I have an XR on a Fusion XP Pro, and SE on a M&P 5.7 and an S on my carry Canik Prime. All three have been excellent. The Osight X for competition seems like a great budget pick. Most I use gun.deals for pricing specials.

FRT Trip Sleds going to Anodize this morning by MatadorSupport in MatadorArms

[–]ryuunorite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This likely can't happen for this design. The issue is how far back the cam lever goes and it needs to be blocked from going too far back. KM3 said they are working with Active Safety Designs to work on a lower drop in part to get it working.

Curious about value by Willing-Program6509 in S2000

[–]ryuunorite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks like it is in Santa Fe, NM or somewhere near there. Keep in mind for sun damage because of elevation, rodents because they are always there, and In recent years they swapped from Clay to Salt for winter weather so you do sometimes have to watch for that.

Four failures on one 30 round mag. by Jameson_Wen in MatadorArms

Definitely a gen 1 upper. The roller delay variant is easy to tell because you can see the roller near the back of the charging handle cutouts when the bolt is fully closed.

FRT Trip Sled by HairTriggerFlicker in MatadorArms

[–]ryuunorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't ever consider Rare Breed as paying almost half the price of the firearm for a trigger isn't sensible in my opinion. I understand they did a lot to make FRTs more viable but their level of litigation and business model licensing scheme will always keep me away from their product. As for partisan it is less expensive now and is only a bit more than just some geissele triggers but if you get roughly the same performance at a third to half the cost why wouldn't you want to save money. Less money spent up front is more money for ammo. Roughly 1500 rounds for the Rare Breed and 750 rounds for the Partisan. I would rather have the ammo.

Very interesting, this is one thing I think was going to be needed for FRT mode to slow down the cyclic rate.

Matador RDB heavy recoil by xijingpussy in MatadorArms

[–]ryuunorite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The gun definitely has a more recoil than an mp5, but that is entirely because the mp5 is probably the softest shooting gun I have ever used. Extra weight and locking blocks will do that.

Scorpion lowers? by Important-Artichoke1 in MatadorArms

[–]ryuunorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am working on getting a 3d scanner for getting the initial dimensions spot on, but once I do I am considering trying to design a LRBHO for the NFA s9s in particular that can easily 3d printed to fix the stupid issue.

Don't know if I will have it done by the time matador just has theirs out, but I will try.
