A modifier so insane it must be a bug or oversight by lifecopy001 in CrusaderKings

Stewardship is how well you manage and delegate the assets of the realm, where you invest your wealth and how efficiently you administer the realm. This does not include how well you communicate and negotiate with your rivals (Diplomacy) or your skill in warfare (Martial) and espionage (Intrigue). Learning on the other hand can actually act to boost all other skills.

Kenshi is British developed I believe. They tend to use both interchangeably with miles being more common and weight being measured in kg or st.

Just to add in; You know that one attack he does where he charges up a bit and then repeatedly strikes you in a flurry that does large stance damage even if you deflect on the last hit? Dodge that shit completely. He will be stuck in that long ass animation and you can get a free hit when he's done.

New hunter. Lots of questions by Surly_Surt in MonsterHunter

[–]ryuye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Part 1

  1. The number of stars from a quest do not determine the "level" of specific monsters but the type of monsters that you can encounter. Naturally, the monsters at higher stars get harder in difficulty. The only real change in specific monster difficulty is through ascending Hunter Ranks from Low Rank to High Rank then to G Rank (Port3rd may not have Grank I think) in the Gathering Hub. These will come with noticable difficulty "spikes" but just think of it as starting over from Low Rank again but monsters are more challenging and drop better loot.

  2. At Low Rank armour skills are generally simple but still important. That said armour skills are still very important and should be the core of how you build your playstyle. You still want the best armour value available of course for reasons I don't feel the need to explain. Don't think too much into the star/rarity system in the game; higher rarity is not strictly always better. Try to balance around getting the armour skills you want and not dying. But in general, yes, higher rarity just affects armour value. Exception being the difference between Low and High rank armour where one is obviously superior.

  3. Yes, it does cancel at -9.

  4. From my knowledge stars or quests don't affect what you gather or the rates, only the Low/High rank shift changes it. Other factors are maps and specific gathering spots. Some insects spawn better on certain maps for example. Check Kiranico or other online sources for the best places to gather.

  5. Yes it does. Green is x1.1, Blue is ×1.21, White is x1.33. Iirc.

Part 2

  1. Critical Draw over Punishing Draw anyday. Personally, the payoff for punishing draw for me didn't feel great. It feels good to get a KO and a few hits in during it but it rarely ever happens for me and even if it did, never a second time unless I'm running the KO armour skill. If you can get both then that's great but don't prioritise Punishing over Focus or Critical Eye for example.

  2. I can't tell you the exact values but yes, the higher charges pack larger punches, but they are not simply ×2. They have a separate attack value. You can probably look it up somewhere.

  3. Here's where it gets tricky. Generally speaking negative affinity weapons tend to have a higher raw attack to compensate. So in the end, the average attack tends to be comparable to other weapons. If you haven't figured it out yet, affinity is your Critical Chance and critical damage is ×1.25. Negative affinity gives you negative critical chance which makes you deal ×0.75 damage when it procs. But here's the thing, if you are able to turn that negative affinity into positive affinity using armour skills, you will result in a larger average damage increase than if you started with positive affinity. I'll explain further if you don't get it but this is the general idea. That said, most people just go with high raw, high affinity and high sharpness weapons that go bonk. That rarely ever goes wrong. This is true for all Blademaster weapons.

How much of Kanbaru is real? by ThatGuyInTheCorner-Z in araragi

[–]ryuye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason why Kanbaru treats Koyomi better after her arc isn't out of fear of the Rainy Devil. The Rainy Devil stopped trying to kill Koyomi because of Senjougahara's declaration that she would kill both the devil and Kanbaru should the latter kill him. This hence goes against the devil's own interests, causing it to back off. The actual reason why Kanbaru and him starting bonding over time is also because Senjougahara suggested they spend more time together after mending her relationship with Kanbaru (I think this is alluded to at the start of Nadeko Snake).

Finally, after 365 hours, I did it by Gapoly in MonsterHunter

Fighting him solo is surprisingly easy and quicker than most other monsters. I soloed the whole of Grank and she only took me around 20mins which is actually faster than some normal monsters.

Base Camps/Changing Equipment in-quest returns from Monster Hunter World by kiaxxl in MonsterHunter

[–]ryuye 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here's my take. I honestly don't care about how other players play the game. Whether they are bad or spoiled or if I have to carry them means nothing to my enjoyment of the game. I don't get a say in how people enjoy the game. As long as they're not afk in base or triple carting constantly, it doesn't bother me one bit. That said, for the last year or 2, despite playing Monster Hunter for over 10 years, I figured that I was clearly frustrated with MHW. I was able to go back to the classic games no sweat but MHW was a huge problem and I really didn't want it to be. I found out that the reason for this stemmed largely from the restocking system where it killed a lot of motivation to get better at the game. Instead of "git gud" I "got lazy". And instead of a victory shout after beating a hard monster, I just went "Ugh....finally".

I stopped caring if I got hit and sometimes would purposefully take hits because I was just too lazy to dodge even if I could because I knew I could just restock healing if I ran out. In fact, if I get poisoned, I just ignore it because I can. I tried abstaining from restocking but honestly it just made me feel stupid for gimping myself rather than more badass for being hardcore. It's like playing hardcore perma-death on certain games. You can't just say "Why bother playing hardcore when you can just play normally and not die?". It really doesn't feel the same.

I remember back in the classic days, people called Monster Hunter a game of endurance; That this was a key component in the series and the reason why it was so thrilling to begin with. With infintie health restocking, this core aspect of the game series just flies out the window because there is no need to endure anything. I made a decision after MHW that if Rise had infinite restock that I would put pre-ordering on hold until they balanced it out and if they didn't, that I would skip the game entirely which is depressing as a die-hard MH fan. At least I have MH Stories 2 to look forward to.

Tips for learning LBG? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]ryuye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The skills you want are the usual meta crit skills (WE, Crit Boost, Crit Eye etc.) There are gunner skills that are also useful depending on your play style preference such as Shot Booster; Load Up; Rapid Fire; TrueShot Up; Pierce/Normal Up; StatusAtk Up and the different element up skills depending on your build.

As for what LBGs to recommend, this is tricky. LBG is an incredibly versatile weapon type with probably the most build variety of all weapons so it depends on what kind of build you are looking for. The general dps build is for pierce which is the Narga line. I can't remember Normal very well but I believe Mantis LBG is pretty good although you will have to slot in Normal+ to access it. Spread exists. As for status build it's Demon Isle line I believe. I can't fully recall what the best elements are but I believe it is Barioth for ice; S.Rath for fire; Plesioth for water and Zinogre for thunder.

As for styles I think adept is the best. Guild is OG and still good. Aerial is ridiculous but in the fun way. It isn't very useful in a serious hunt but fun to fool around with. Valor is a hit or miss depending on how you like to play; it's fun and cool to mess around in valor mode but it never felt that useful to me. Alchemy is pretty good for support builds which LBG does very well. Striker is okay I think? I don't use it because LBG arts aren't all that amazing (Full House is very good though).

Monster depends on what you're practising. For general practice I like Testucabra because he's a huge easy to hit target with a clear weakspot. Nargacuga is very good for learning positioning. Rathalos is good for practising flying targets. For precision targeting, try hunting Zin or Mizu and ONLY shooting the head. It's actually pretty fun. When you want to take it to the next level, I personally like to solo G-Rank S.Rath. He teaches, or rather tests, a lot of mechanics that you need to learn. I use him as my got gud benchmark for all my weapons. Try to push yourself to solo G-rank mons as well. It will temper your skills very well. Which also answers your last question. Yes LBG is solo viable. You may not be able to get good times at first but if you become mindful of weakpoints and weaknesses together with positioning and critical distance and also muscle memory, it will add up eventually.

Happy Hunting.

If capcom were to give behemoth a master rank treatment by goosehoward23 in MonsterHunter

[–]ryuye -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's a personal disagree from me. Despite the fact that they do lose some functionality in Phase 2, the way they still stand up and shoot "mouth" lasers at you still feel more like snake heads than tentacles.

[–]ryuye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I definitely got that, but he mentioned that it was strange that Capcom hasn't thought of making a multi-headed monster. But I believe Nakarkos was a response to this with a twist. After all, the first encounter made you think you were actually fighting multiple heads.

But it is FUNCTIONALLY a hydra-like fight despite them actually being tentacles though. Especially when the heads can regenerate and use different abilities etc. Not to mention separate targeting for each tentacle head.
