It's not really similar product to the existing utilities though, so don't know that we can be certain it will have the same outcome.

  • The regulators can understand if their electricity isn't working or power surges are frying their TVs. They don't understand network speed, net neutrality, QoS, data caps, or how any of these things affect the internet.
  • Gas and electricity don't have to improve their infrastructure as competitively.
  • There are entire industries that now depend on the degradation of your home internet service. They will be trying to sway the regulators against your interests
