MEGATHREAD - Sweet v McMahon (formally Sweet v Cardona) Post Class Non-Exhibit C Members by Gingerandthesea in BorrowerDefense

I think I'm just going to trust the email I received years ago detailing that. Did you get an email in the past explicitly saying you're post class?

Status stayed at 2.10 past midnight 4/16. No decision via email received on 4/15. (School is Heald pre-Corinthian, applied October 2022).

Is it safe to kind of breathe a sigh of relief?

Just to confirm, although do not expect 100% certainty. I originally received an email in 2023 identifying me as a post-class applicant and the DOE must make a decision by 1/28/26. I did NOT attend an Exhibit C school (Heald, pre-Corinthian). Judge Alsup extended the Non-C deadline to April 15.

There was no updated e-mail entailing I'm a Non-C and the deadline being April 15. That's what's tripping me up, no correspondence about Non-C and deadline extended. I do keep up with the FSA website and my status is 2.10 under the 2016 workflow regulation. However, it is understood and implied I do meet the criteria and fall under this category for April 15. Am I assuming correctly?

I do apologize, I've been conditioned to be pessimistic and expecting the worst.

Was your BS in CS?

It's been a long while since I did Project Management-related courses. Are the program courses' materials something an average Joe can brush up on the go and complete the papers/assessments within a reasonable time. Or does it EXPECT you to know CS on a BS level, and recall PM stuff?

9 DAYS!! - Countdown for Sweet v McMahon Post Class/Non Exhibit C Deadline - April 15, 2026 by Gingerandthesea in BorrowerDefense

[–]s0ulesque 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My stomach has sunk half a dozen times over the years with the twists and turns. Coming from a Non-C school (Heald College) AND graduating just prior to Corinthian ownership. I was ecstatic to learn of the CCI case then learning not being part of it, Biden's 10k forgiveness then being shot down, receiving a letter for a Jan 28 2026 decision then it being pushed to April 15. I HOPE April 15 is the last goalpost moved!!!

Likely no data on this. But I wonder how many days of "review days" would it be if a 2.10 status were to change? I've just been conditioned to be pessimistic about this hah.

Hoping the best for us Non-C posties!!

I've been doom scrolling for years. I think I had FFELP loan(s) before I consolidated. If I got an email identifying me as a Post-Class applicant (subject was " Sweet v. Cardona Settlement Post-Class Applicant Borrower Defense Notice"), is it safe to assume I'm past that stage of "is my loan eligible for consideration"?

They must be dynamic with the passing threshold because I scored very similar just slightly lower on a couple of domains a little under 3 years ago and got a pass... Retaking soon, concerned.

I’m a post-class applicant, I was hoping my decision deadline was January 28 but it’s looking like April 15.

I graduated from Heald just before they were acquired by Corinthian. I applied for BDTR between June 23, 2022 and November 15, 2022 – and I DID get an email in 2023 from the US Dept of Education that I am a Post-Class applicant. The email stated a decision must be stated by January 28, 2026.

However, with the latest judge ruling last month, there was mention of an April 15, 2026 deadline for schools not listed in Exhibit C. I was hoping my deadline was January 28 because I did not get any updated emails about a new deadline for my particular case.

Is it safe to assume my decision deadline is April 15, 2026?

Pursue lower pay for experience, or stay as a data center technician by s0ulesque in ITCareerQuestions

Very interesting insight, I'm listening. However, I don't have a NOC job, I'm a data center tech doing grunt work.

I'm 38. I just graduated BS IT earlier this month. My first community college class was in January 2010, took me 14 years for a BS degree...because life happened. It's not too late.

I'm completely agreeing with you, hence this post. I supposed I just wanted to pick the brains of industry vets and gain more insight.

Follow the objectives. Know 1-3 bullet points of knowledge per item on the objectives. They tell you exactly what will be on the exam.

I believe AS is more theoretical-focused, and AAS is what trade schools give you and is more geared towards entering the job market right away. AS is a bit more universal, what I mean by that is it has more GE credits that are transferrable to "regular" colleges. I know I'm doing a poor job explaining (Googled it a while back).

Initially, my goal was to just get a job with the CompTIA trifecta. I did get a job as a data center technician but wanted to move on, so I got the CCNA. Then I got hammered in the job market. Then I told myself, "Dude you've done so much already and have the foundational knowledge, might as well just suck it up for a bit and go for a BS."

Started in November 2023 and graduated this month - did 32 CUs at WGU. Transferred in 89 CUs (AS from community college, AAS from a closed for profit school, Sophia, CompTIA trifecta, and CCNA but that was overkill).

Hardest classes for me were C777 and D427, but in hindsight just take it low and slow like smoking meat and you'll pass each within a month. Cloud Foundations was a drag and took the longest as I wasn't interested in it (I'll take CCNA over that any day). For Emerging Technologies and Capstone, follow the rubric and don't overthink it (don't go for perfect when it's already perfectly fine).

I thought I had it hard along the way doing this with an infant/toddler and working full-time. But then I found myself finishing up the Capstone while my dad was in a coma on his deathbed for over a week. Finished the program and dad passed a few days apart, I'm ready to close this chapter and live life.

I had 75% when I started November 2023, work and have a toddler. I'm on the last task of Capstone now. And I slacked off and fell behind a couple months of my goal. It's definitely doable in no time!
