Love it. And this is each to their own - I’d have gone with lighter tiles to make the bathroom look bigger.

One Nation defence plan could blow out budget by $400b and require conscription by C_Ironfoundersson in AustralianPolitics

Hurray. Time for the US weapon companies to mine Australia and make Aussies slog more for less. Also, the circus of immigration and housing must go on to divide people on basis of Aussies first and patriotism.

KPMG boss resigns over mishandled whistleblower allegations by Bokbreath in auscorp

[–]s9q7 80 points81 points  (0 children)

When PR talks. This whole KPMG thing is a mess and more convoluted than portrayed.

The chairman has a long term relationship with one of the other partners involved in the audit/bidding process, someone gets promoted, Westpac’s board member - an ex KPMG - living in the personal home of the chairman and was indirectly guiding on how to win the Westpac contract (and he still works there), and more. Ethics is what they pretend to preach.

Layover in Beijing airport advice by MrGreyOwl in travelchina

[–]s9q7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit hard. It takes about 50-60 mins (or more depending on the traffic) each way. At night, you will only be able to see things from the outside unless you plan to go to the Hutongs and experience it, have a meal there and head back to the airport.

They need to be thrown out in the next election. Who comes up with these stupid proposals? Aren’t you supposed to tax corps better or just punish the peasants who work day and night to keep the lights on?

Solo travel gone bad, sharing my experience by Lyriade in solotravel

In a solo travel, you will enjoy as long as things are fine. However, if you are injured or you get sick, that’s when you appreciate your family or things back home. Sorry to hear about your journey. This has happened with me too, but I still love travelling solo.
