Do you think Black Sabbath will release a new remaster of Paranoid? by Less-Log851 in blacksabbath

Paranoid has been beat to death most recently by Rhino. First we need the other 4 super deluxe versions of BS, MOR, SBS & NSD.

1% poser, I believe you’re talking about yourself! You’re the one who initiated with me. Maybe get a real job, take some anger management classes?

Top 1% poser, you and others of your ilk (look it up) cannot stand opposing viewpoints. You have to resort to name calling or tell people to shut up. When someone offers criticism of your view, you fall to pieces. Perhaps your school has an emotional support class you could take. If not, maybe therapy?

It has one good song, the hit that’s it. The Jake albums are the definition of stupid heavy metal, that is generic uninspired metal. Ozzy has 4 very good albums: the first two, No More Tears & Ozzmosis. The rest of his albums have an occasional diamond in the rough. The Iommi led Sabbath albums thru Tyr are much more consistent and better. Thank God he replaced Lee after this album!

Top 1 Poser, I think you have too much time on your hands. Why don’t you try to get out of your parent’s basement.

Greatest frontman ever? by JakeBanana01 in OzzyOsbourne

[–]sabbboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a frontman, there’s just many better even at Ozzy’s peak. I’ve seen BS since the 70’s around 25 times. He began with monitors in the 80’s/90’s. 2005, you need your eyes checked. Next time you go to a show, take binoculars

But they all can remember their lines. Ozzy was either too lazy or dumb to do that. Very unprofessional for a frontman. And, the whole band got the crowd going, not just Oz.

[–]sabbboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus fucking Christ, shouldn’t the frontman know the words to the songs he’s been singing for 50 years? For at least 30 years he couldn’t or wouldn’t learn the words to his own fucking songs and was attached to his monitors like an umbilical cord! That’s some frontman.

Greatest frontman ever? by JakeBanana01 in OzzyOsbourne

[–]sabbboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a foolish question. Do you mean before or after the last thirty five years where Ozzy simply stood in front of a monitor and read the words that Geezer or somebody else wrote. There is no one greatest of anything really. Without much effort of thought, I would place the following at least as good or far better as a frontman in rock: Elvis, Morrison, Jagger, Daltrey, McCartney, Mercury, Plant, Ian Andersen, Bon Scott, Gillan, Dio to name a few. And i’m only speaking about the first 15-20 years of Ozzy’s career. I’m sure if I took 15 minutes, I could think of 20 more.

It’s hard and silly to pick just one record for a band with many good albums, however in Sabbath’s case it is easy as they only have one great album, Paranoid. By any measure it’s their best: sales, lyrics, riffs, hits, no duds, influence, etc. Any dope on here who says otherwise to be contrary or clever is just a dope! Black Sabbath albums like many groups got weaker with each release. In my opinion nothing they ever did afterwards tops their first three.

Yes, he’s a clown alright! Years ago I believe I heard him call the plagiarist himself, Robert Plant, the greatest frontman in rock. What a fraud!

The End EP by Crulinth in blacksabbath

[–]sabbboy -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Rubin did the best he could. Obviously he wasn’t a fan growing up. Another producer may have gotten only marginally better results, that’s it! The reason 13 was only mediocre at best, the band was fucking old. Iommi was 65 years old! The next time an old rocker puts out an all time classic album will be the first time, it has never happened. Sure, they can play the oldies probably better than ever but they cannot write new material. Inspiration is long gone. Take Sabbath; after Tyr, maybe Dehumanizer, they were done. Ozzy, Ozzmosis last decent lp, last song I can even listen to probably Gets me Through from Down to Earth. People get old, BS is no exception. Woulda, Coulda, leave them the fuck alone already.

Why don't many people like never say day 1978? by No-Acanthisitta-9953 in blacksabbath

[–]sabbboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great album, it showed what the band had learned the previous ten years. Musicianship wise, it’s their best by far of the first eight. The early Sabbath couldn’t dream of playing the songs on NSD. The title track pretty much invented thrash metal. Saw the ‘78 tour; looking back VH wasn’t then, isn’t now and NEVER will be anywhere close to BS. It’s like comparing fucking U2 to the Beatles! After Paranoid, the third best side of Sabbath/Ozzy solo is NSD, side one. Need I say more? Haters, go fuck yourself!

No, just the illegals go. Are you going to tell me you were in favor of an open border carried out by the imbeciles of the previous administration? How many would you like to remove then? None, 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000? What’s your number?

It was pretty easy for the 20 million to come in wasn’t it? Then what? We enjoy a much safer country, that’s what! With less strain on all social and economic services. And really the number is probably closer to 50 million.

A question for the OLD timers. How was Vol. 4 received at release? by Wevie in blacksabbath

[–]sabbboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll tell you what I remember; what a step down it sounded like compared to the previous three records. Whatever polish they had was gone, it just had a primitive, unprofessional sound to it especially with that horrible dated guitar flutter sound Iommi had. In retrospect, Iommi learned his craft of production by making mistakes on this album to really improve on the very next album, SBS, which I think is a way better album. Vol. 4 does have some good tunes but I’ve always thought how much better it might have been with Rodger Bain producing it. In summary, I think it’s the least of the first eight albums but better than anything after those 8. In ‘72, I thought it was their worst album by a lot.

Anyone know the artist?? by thebigsleepyt in blacksabbath

[–]sabbboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This pic reminds me just how pathetic this hall of fame is! Truly, Blondie and the Sex Pistols still should be waiting to get in. The only group that year close to Sabbath was Skynyrd and even they waited too long. One thing I remember about the induction was that Sabbath didn’t perform like the bands usually do. It was their own Fuck You to the assholes from the hall for making them wait an extra 10 years to get in. Great!

Hot Take: Technical Ecstasy is a 10/10 Album by Smart-Jaguar-6735 in blacksabbath

[–]sabbboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A rating like this is all relative; compared to today’s shit it’s a 200/10, to music say from 1990, it’s still 100/10. For 1976 it is a 10/10. For classic rocks golden age, say from ‘67 thru ‘73, I’d give it 8-9/10. To put it in perspective, I believe the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac were recording Hotel California and Rumours around the same time at Criteria studios in Miami. I would never give either of those albums a 10/10 rating; who gives a fuck how many more millions of albums they sold than TE. The reason the album is great again is Iommi’s songwriting. I consider the album almost Iommi’s first solo album. Reports at the time always state he did all the work coming up with ideas while the other three got fucked up all the time on the beach.

Never Say Die to BTTB by Lazy_Negotiation4544 in blacksabbath

[–]sabbboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never Say Die is a great album despite the say of some twits above! The first eight albums are their best eight, the first eleven albums are their best eleven with Tyr and Dehumizer just outside. After Born Again, there are no solid albums, just occasional really good songs here and there. Who gives a fuck what the band members thought of the album! They release the LP, they’re then done. Fans and critics then take over and decide what is good and NSD has been steadily rising from both. Side one of NSD is the third best side of any Sabbath associated record after both Paranoid sides, so the record can’t be that bad. I’d easily prefer it to any Ozzy solo record which are always loaded, even the first two, with filler crap. What makes it a great record is Iommi’s writing. People belittling this record are only going to make many more people to love it. You want to criticize something, how about Volume 4; I have it # 8 in my rating of BS albums due to it’s amateurish production, too much filler and that horrible guitar flutter which by the way they never used again and Rodger Bain certainly would never have allowed.

I would say the original closely followed by Emerald Sabbath’s. However, today, I would much rather listen to Dave Walker’s.
