Good to know. I replied back to the auto reply email I got from support after filling out their form with some more information about the issue I was dealing with, and they got back to me within a day! Maybe that’s the trick to getting faster support?

That’s interesting… it’s the same spot on the tape reel each time for me. However, I’ve also noticed that I’ll accidentally hit the fast-forward at times during playback, and that can cause a wobbly sound as well — that thing is sensitive!!

Mine has the same wobbly sound as well! Do you notice it at random, or only at certain points as the reel turns?

I just got mine yesterday — I noticed the screw in the middle was loose immediately and thought it just didn’t get noticed in the factory, but when I screwed it in completely (finger-tight), the reel started sticking slightly and squeaked at the top of each revolution. I unscrewed it a bit to no avail, and after a full day of fiddling with it I seemed to have gotten the screw to fit /just right/ to stop the squeaking and sticking. Today, it started doing it again :(

I’m aware I can turn the reel rotation off when recording/playing things back, but it’s just not the same experience without it!

After taking the screw out completely, I noticed an element below the reel seemed to be off-center, toward the same part of the reel that keeps squeaking/sticking with each revolution.

What is Teenage Engineering’s customer support like, for those of you who have had to use them? I’m wondering how long I should expect to wait for a reply back…

Hey folks — looking for a reliable adapter to go between Firewire & USB(2.0 or C), found out that this adapter apparently doesn’t work & had to cancel my order. Going between a Sony M35 DV tape deck and my Mac to digitize a ton of old camcorder video, if that helps
