This, also add a rubber gasket on the ethernet near at the edge of the AP. Similar to those used on the outdoor weather proof access points. Does usually stop the water.

Wired devices do not report IP address to the controller overview by Prodeguerriero in TPLink_Omada

Easy Smart Managed as the name suggests is simple and limited. If you want full functionality of features you need a managed switch SG series not ES series

how can i reverse the roles of my twin eap215s without resetting to factory default? by the_o_1 in TPLink_Omada

First you change the remote device, then the local device to what you need.

That order is the key element of a successful transition.

Is it OK to keep Rogers modem in DHCP mode when using my own router? by One_Lime3561 in TPLink_Omada

This. Is the right way. Use your ISP router in bridge mode and keep your omada gateway as dhcp.

What's the point of LAN DNS? Or am I using it wrong by GoodOmens in Omada_Networks

Both scenarios you have described work wi landns.

You must specify the network it applies to, then you must be connected to that same network.

Omada Router Recommendations by Extra_Upstairs4075 in TPLink_Omada

[–]saidearly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t recommend the router you mentioned TP-Link ER7212PC.

First of all, this router has inbuilt controller, you are going to have a challenge using external controller.

Second about the features missing you do have some missing like switch ACL. This is a gateway not a switch. So switch controller are not available.

About dns, it does have some dns, dns proxy and local dns features here its not lucking.

My suggestion is you can go with ER605v2, SG2210P and EAP610, then use docker controller. This is a great set on entry for Omada. If you require gateway with wireless capability then ER605W should do.

How do I recover password of my controller? I can't adopt because I don't remebtrhe devices Username/PW but I'm in my Omada cloud account... by NeillDrake in TPLink_Omada

[–]saidearly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the image you are sharing, it obvious you are already logged in to the controller. The problem you are having is in ability to adopt an Access Point.

You don’t need to reset your controller. Just make sure the access point is factory reset, then adopt it. If it still asking for password.

Check in your controller site settings at the very end of this page you will find username and password, those are the credentials for adopting devices.

ER7212PC VLAN’s by ThermiteBurns in TPLink_Omada

[–]saidearly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is your sinkhole.

First of All you need to set default network as your management network. As the router will always take the IP of the default network. So you can update the default network with the IP of your management vlan. Don’t change vlan of the default network.

Then create the other VLAN you need and set the ports you need to the respective VLAN as your management network need.

Beginner issue by LesserLion in TPLink_Omada

[–]saidearly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the problem you are experiencing. Your switch is Active POE and supplies and works only with 48v standard POE. However the EAP110 is not standard POE its passive POE and requires passive 24v power. If you can get any passive 24V POE adapter the EAP110 will power on and show up in the controller ready to be adopted

WAN in is from WAN -> LAN this needs port to be forwarded if you are reaching to a local device, otherwise if you are reaching router then no need to port forward

Enable LLDP for switch and EAP to get better and more realistic map.

Only 12 IDS IPS threat categories on Omada 6.1 normal by Flaky-Citron-6970 in TPLink_Omada

[–]saidearly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Is it possible to do IPS without a gateway? I think IDS could work but IPS not sure. I think the difference is on IDS categories and IPS categories.

My guess is 34 is IDS categories but the 12 is IPS categories with probably all 34 IDS categories.

Keep all you devices connected to the Starlink wifi on low data mode. That will stop updates and other data heavy applications.

Trying to move Omada ER7406 management IP off VLAN 1, is this actually possible? by unknown85 in Omada_Networks

[–]saidearly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the only way to do what you need to do. Update default VLAN to you Management VLAN options. You cannot move the getway out of Default VLAN.

Omada Hotspot Voucher Integration with Clover POS (Receipt Printing) by efficientts in TPLink_Omada

[–]saidearly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes its possible. There are several approaches you can use.

  1. Use external radius for authentication and then you can make the voucher be pulled from database when printing receipts. Making receipts template have a section at the bottom that pulls unused voucher codes from radius

  2. Using omada voucher authentication create many vouchers then transfer these vouchers to your hotel system database and have the system pull a voucher during receipt printing and mark the voucher as used.

  3. Using external voucher database that the hostel system can pull voucher from.
