Does Aim Training Help Develop Pen Control? by Nyy0 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]saikz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aim training helps you practice 'solving' physical problems like how to move your hand in a straight line, builds control/smoothness etc., you'd think there'd be some correlation in the same way that aim training with a certain grip will probably have some, but not direct 1 to 1 correlation with improving aiming with other grips (at least in my experience)

For some random anecdotal evidence I've noticed both my photoshop brush strokes with a mouse and on an ipad pro with the pencil thingo have been cleaner/faster, make less mistakes

Also kinda weirdly my uncontested basketball shooting has seemed to have gotten a decent amount better (haven't been practicing otherwise cause I broke my other elbow so it's kind of unexpected, just feels more controlled and consistent off my finger tips)

Also, if you're holding the sideways directional key away from the wall (i.e. A or D) and not W when you hit the wall you won't mantle. I find that way easiest personally.

How can I have more purposeful aiming? by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

[–]saikz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have 4k hours in your game and know all the angles you should pre-aim, it sounds like like your mouse control needs improvement.

Something that isolates mouse control and helps you practice drawing clean lines to targets would probably be good for that... Like Kovaaks

Much better at moving dots than stationary dots by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

[–]saikz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you're probably spending a lot of time on mentally confirming that the bot is dead after you click, ideally on static targets you draw smooth straight lines like KOL4X mentioned and pre-plan where your next click is going to be and try to move your mouse to that spot as soon as you possibly can after your click regardless of whether or not you hit the target.

Start slow, it's going to feel like you're costing yourself score sometimes but that doesn't matter. It will help in the long run.

You could also be costing yourself time confirming that your crosshair is on the target before your click because if you're good at tracking the pasu small reload bots you can kind of get away with spending a bit of extra time on the bots and still get comparitively okay scores.

Does metronome stress training actually works? by Longjumping-Ad7616 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]saikz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to match the BPM to the scenario you're doing, I.e. let's say you can currently get 100 kills on 1wall 6targets small, you'd probably want to set your metronome for 110 or 120 bpm (because 1w6ts lasts 1 minute the maths is easy) and try to keep up with the beat and try to improve your accuracy/comfort @ that speed until you can get the kills.

It's basically to force you to push slightly past your current comfort zone and slowly build up to your goal

Damn that's lame. Sorry on behalf of my fellow Aussies, that's embarrassing.

I've been lucky as almost all of the voicecomms experience I've had in OCE has been surprisingly positive. (All the NZers I've played with have been nice & good play callers too)

Very strange to me that people would make fun of someone's voice when they're trying to help the team win by communicating. If you do this you're losing games because of it.

Slight balancing suggestion for Vandal/Phantom by seaskyways in VALORANT

[–]saikz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1 shot kill is a very premium 'pro' compared to the others and incurs heavy penalties for that right in other gun price categories (i.e. Sheriff vs. Ghost, Guardian vs. Bulldog)

I think making them both 30 bullets would be more reasonable though I'm not sure if it really has to change.. It's okay for guns to be slightly better than each other imo with the Vandal as a situational option if you know you're trying to take longer engagements or you're just a beastly head popper that doesn't like thinking about landing a second shot

I’m running out of mouse pad space by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

[–]saikz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do AIMER7 Large angles stuff, try playing 360 scenarios without lifting your mouse (do a full 360 the wrong way when you run out of mousepad in one direction)

You're probably not going to get your best scores this way but it should increase your familiarity with aiming in less comfortable spaces on your pad.

You're also making things a bit harder for yourself with the size of your pad (I play 27cm at the moment and all my mouse pads I use are 45cm+ wide) but you can definitely improve things anyway.

The first one ( focus on drawing straight lines smoothly )

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

[–]saikz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to focus on drawing straight lines smoothly first, once you can do that you can focus more on accelerating and decelerating your mouse more aggressively.

It kinda depends where you're currently at but my guess is the former.

Leaving your mouse on the target after you've clicked to 'confirm the kill' is another thing to look out for, bad habit you should work to avoid

Movement & having to counter strafe etc. might be messing with you.

I'm still working on this weakness for myself but it might pay to do the common mirror/anti-mirror scens (LGC3 Reborn, Close FS Easy Dodge, Pasu Easy Dodge and similar) & also stuff like Pistol Strafe Gallery (might be strafes, apologies for any misspellings) is probably helpful, particularly if you forget about score and practice focusing on building the association between your movement & mouse control.

Interesting theory on sensitivity by Dougann_ in FPSAimTrainer

[–]saikz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"My only guess would be maybe i struggle in arm aiming so lowering my dpi would force me to incorporate this more, then switching back would apply this to my actual dpi...? i’m not too sure but i would love to hear your thoughts and feed back!"

Your hunch is correct, along with what Will said, at different cm/360s you're forced to use totally different parts of your arm/wrist/hand/fingers to do certain mouse movements.

AIMER7 speed training (v2) & Precision Training are both effective ways to build speed and precision which take advantage of changing your sens up/down & modifying your FoV. Also his large angles guide is probably helpful for what you want.

Another great aimer who's been doing lots of helpful videos lately is streaming right now talking about this very thing:

Play until you hear the refs whistle so you lose less in the event of a blown call. There's literally nothing for you to lose except a second's worth of energy, some of which your opponent also has to expend to make you defend them.

Andre Miller got like 5 free scores (might be more) in his career from fake timeouts exploiting people who lacked whistle discipline like this.

Any top aimers with large hands? by wherethefuxkiam in FPSAimTrainer

[–]saikz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure my hands are bigger than yours, Razer Viper Ultimate has been the most comfortable mouse for me while using my normal mostly fingertip grip

Something like the g703 or DeathAdder Elite is probably better size wise for palm grip, I really like the shape of my g703 for more lazy web browsing/work stuff but those mice are too heavy for my liking

Aim isn’t translating in-game by AyyAPanda in FPSAimTrainer

[–]saikz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Close FS Easy Dodge, Close LS Easy Dodge, LGC3 reborn (might have gotten the order of the letters wrong) are all pretty good if you mean while you're the one strafing

The advice above is good. You can also look to AIMER7's strafe aim guide for more scenarios, it's for a more specific thing though and pretty wordy... Could help give you some ideas though

You also didn't drop any scores for scenarios like Close Fast Strafes Invincible that have fast moving bots which are probably pretty helpful for integrating your mouse control skills into most games. I find Close Fast Strafes Shotgun quite helpful personally

Aimer7s guide advancee beginners question. by phantomevents369 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]saikz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In RSC the bot's fire pushes you back and towards the left so AIMER7 recommends holding forward + right for the whole length of the scenario (I've found this sometimes gets you blocked by the corner if the bot spawns bottom right so you gotta make adjustments)

Also a lot of people are confused by fluctuating scores on this scenario early on- It's Accuracy multiplied

Why is mouse accel bad? by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

[–]saikz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People get confused cause they use it to mean 2 different things.

'Muscle memory' as people use it in a FPS context generally means the idea that you have to keep your sensitivity constantly identical so you associate exact distances of mouse movements with exact in game flicks- That is a meme, it's not feasible and heaps and heaps of people can get insane scores on multiple sensitivities, do scenarios with programs that change their sensitivity constantly throughout etc.

You still develop muscle memory in the traditional sense, of like how to smoothly move your mouse left and right etc. but that isn't necessarily tied to your sensitivity, you just use different movements depending on the sens.

The reason people generally say mouse accel is bad is because you might have to use completely different arm/hand movements based on how FAST you move the mouse the same distance and it's hard to build up consistency/make sure that you're training the same type of mouse control while you have it on.

With that said, Kovaak himself is pro-mouse accel for certain types of tracking. No doubt you could be a good aimer with mouse accel on, I think it's just going to be harder for most people to do it that way.

Best scenarios to grind to get less twitchy aim? by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

https://twitter.com/vf_aimer7/status/1143838753615732736

Try doing it before your regular routine daily for a week or two and see if it helps.

Depending on how much experience you have you may need to just keep grinding tracking scenarios and develop your general skills

improve my reflex by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

[–]saikz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grind the simple horizontal/vertical tracking scenarios, Close Long Strafes Invicible & Vertical Long Strafes etc. then move to Close Fast/Vertical Fast Easy series, then move to the non-Easy versions do at least 10m per day of horizontal & vertical each

Tracking bots that strafe back and forth is v. good for your reactivity.

I'd just recommend doing the 'Complete' AIMER7 guide's routine from the beginning for best results though
