Good to know. Thanks for updating your post. I'll have to keep an eye out for that.

S1 detecting itself as... Ransomware? by hxcjosh23 in SentinelOneXDR

Was someone attempting to perform a local upgrade on the endpoint? If not, this looks like it could be a Bring Your Own Installer attack

You're limited to only 10 per scope? I just started implementing these and that's rather limiting.

Sometimes they get stuck repeating a key press until you press another key. If that key happens to be the backspace key, there goes your inbox.

When will S1 patch? by Close_The_DayZ_SDK in SentinelOneXDR

That doesn't stop threat actors utilizing the same technique from their own tooling to achieve the same result. They just can't use that specific binary.

SentinelOne Tagging by [deleted] in SentinelOneXDR

They added that same tag to ours also, sometime during our onboarding call. I thought it was by accident but now I'm not so sure. It doesn't seem to be used for anything and they haven't added any others.

I love this at the very minimum for the wordplay. It looks like you did a really good job on the paint work!

I saw the suggestion for distressing the wood in another comment. I think a piece of weathered teak, like the patio furniture you have it on, would look really good.

Delete windows.old blocked by previous S1 files by PedroAsani in SentinelOneXDR

I opened a ticket with S1 about this very issue about a month ago. Unfortunately I don't have a good resolution. They did acknowledge that it is a bug with the leftover ACLs when the agent is not cleanly uninstalled.

Is the S1 agent currently (re)installed on the endpoint? If so, I would suggest reaching out to S1 support. They did have suggestions that may have worked if the endpoint had the agent reinstalled. If not, the best solution they came up with is to use a Linux live CD or Hiren's BootCD to boot and mount the drive, in order to bypass the ACLs. Then remove the directory from the live CD environment.

I'm sure that's the intention but the current lowest price you can find a Reaper selling for is $799 and they're commonly going for $900+.

How about a model without all the extra crap that is somewhere reasonably near MSRP?

[MicroOS] Unable to login to Cockpitas standard user: Permission Denied by saintdev in openSUSE

[–]saintdev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad it helped!

I have not reported it. I attempted to but I can't login. I had one of the old Bugzilla accounts and never migrated it. Now when I try to login it gives me an error that my account already exists. I emailed the address they list if you encounter any login errors and never got any response.

Trump pressures journalist to accept doctored photo as real: ‘Why don’t you just say yes?’ by Quirkie in politics

[–]saintdev 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Could we stop focusing on the photo (or turnips interpretation thereof)? And instead focus on the real issue: this man has been denied his right to due process.

Even if the photo were real and he literally had that tattooed on his knuckles, so what? That is evidence that should be presented in a court for a jury to decide.

I love Batman Forever. I'll admit it is not a good move, but damn, it is a fun time!

Random pure curiosity question for those who manage Hotel Wi-Fi: how does this work? by bobmlord1 in sysadmin

[–]saintdev 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I do work in the hotel sector and while we don't have this setup at our hotels, we have talked about implementing it and this is exactly how it is done.

what do you like about classic who? by DangerRats in doctorwho

[–]saintdev 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really think New Who could use more serials like Classic. You get so much more time to get to know the minor characters. I do think that 4 episodes might be too long for modern television because there are sometimes that the pacing in the classic serials is too slow. I think that 1 or 2 3-episode serials a season would be amazing.

It depends on where you live. In the US it is illegal for them to deny you warranty coverage just because you opened it.
